Sam Stout and KJ Noons were scheduled to weigh-in Tuesday for a scrap in the lightweight division at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale from Quebec City, Canada.
However, after both fighters approached the UFC requesting the fight be changed to a welterweight bout, the Quebec athletic commission has approved such a move.
A release from the UFC confirmed news of the fight change:
The lightweight bout originally scheduled between Sam Stout and KJ Noons for UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Kennedy has been changed to a welterweight contest. The fighters approached the UFC to request the change in weight class, and it was subsequently approved by both the UFC and the Quebec athletic commission, the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux.
Stout (20-9-1) has fought at lightweight his entire career, going 5-3 in his last eight overall. Noons (12-7) is coming off his first Octagon win, a decision over George Sotiropoulos last October.
