Tonight’s coverage of UFC Fight Night 36 rolls along with our recap of tonight’s welterweight bout between Viscardi Andrade and Nicholas Musoke. The Swede would send the partisan crowd into a rather depressed state after rallying to defeat the Brazilian.
Musoke Recovers to Best Andrade
It looked like decisions were a thing of the past early in tonight’s second main card fight but Viscardi Andrade’s premature decision cost him dearly tonight against Nico Musoke. While Andrade appeared to be on his way to a quick win after flooring the Swede, Musoke was able to recover when the Brazilian believed he had won the fight.
Musoke hung on for the rest of the first and that proved to be a major victory for the Swede. “Nico” would seize control with a solid all-round attack that put pressure on an exhausted Andrade during the final two rounds. While Brazilian decisions have not always favored foreign fighters, there was no arguing that Musoke deserved the win.
It was over when:
Ironically, the bout effectively ended when Andrade thought he won by dropping Musoke. While Andrade tried to take advantage the rest of the round, Musoke held on while Andrade’s gas tank was on “E” by the end of the first.
Neither fighter particularly impressed with this fight and both will likely find themselves fighting on a minor international card or on prelims in their next appearance.
