“He’s a very tough kid. He is very balanced with his skills. I’ve been looking for a fight like this against a guy with good skills and who has a good name. I’ve been watching his fights every night. I’ve been watching him over and over and over again to get familiar with his style. I’m excited to fight him because he puts it all out there. I’m really proud of myself for being able to get a fight like this and the opportunity it will bring me. I want to thank Joe Silva and Sean Shelby for giving me the opportunity and I’m going to put on a great performance against Dustin Poirier.” (PHOTO CREDIT: Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports)
The poster for UFC 168 certainly doesn’t feature featherweights Diego Brandao (18-8) and Dustin Poirier (14-3) but you better believe fans will be well-acquainted with both by the time the curtain closes. The two twenty-somethings already have a handful of brilliant performances under their belt, exhibiting the sort of skill earning reputations for each as exciting, aggressive competitors worth watching. Brandao recently spoke to UFC.com about his December 28 tilt with Poirier where he labeled to bout as the biggest of his career and promised a high dose of entertainment.
