Michael Bisping-Mark Munoz agree to October action in Manchester

A long overdue middleweight match-up appears to be on deck this fall in the form of a fight between UFC stars Michael Bisping and Mark Munoz. Both have lurked at the top of the division for years without ever challenging for a title but haven’t crossed paths. However, that should change on October 26 when the UFC heads to Manchester, England for an event believed to be UFC on FS 4.

Officials have not announced the card or bout but MMAJunkie has confirmed verbal agreements are at least in place with sources on both sides of the scrap. The effort is also expected to be a five-round main event.

The meeting will mark the 24-5 Bisping’s return to his native England after a three-year break from competing in the country. He was last seen scoring a decision win over Alan Belcher this past April.

Munoz (13-3) is fresh off a one-sided outpointing of Tim Boetsch at UFC 162. The victory was his fifth in six fights.

Hoping Munoz wins this, but I see Bisping out wrestling Munoz to a decision

Munoz will probably be outboxed from outside if he doesnt train properly to close distance

Bispings not going to out wrestle Munoz. It’s likely to be a high paced pitter-patter game by Bisping. I don’t think Munoz can win on the feet and he won’t be able to get and hold Bisping down for long. As we saw against Sonnen and Rashad, Bisping does alright against good wrestlers. Munoz just isn’t on their level though and shouldn’t be able to pull off a narrow decision like they did.

Bisping has lost to the three best wrestlers he has faced so far, but only 1, Henderson, really beat him the other two losses were split decision loses that could have gone either way. The guy has excelent counter wrestling skills and is a far more technical striker than Munoz, but Munoz does have a power advantage so this will be another pretty close fight I think the count wins by decision.
