They may not call the UFC home but there’s no doubt middleweights Melvin Manhoef and Mamed Khalidov are two of the most talented 185ers not currently displaying their talents inside the Octagon. Manhoef is a knockout artist with heavy hands and a polished kickboxing background, while Khalidov is a well-rounded finisher who has only stumbled a single time in more than 25 tilts. And, fortunately for fans, the dynamic duo will be duking it out next month on a card in Poland.
According to an official announcement, Manhoef and Khalidov are set to collide on June 8 at KSW 23. Ultimate Fighter 3 champ Kendall Grove will also see action on the card, as will heavyweight powerhouse Mariusz Pudzianowski.
Manhoef is coming off a decision loss to Brock Larson but had picked up a trio of victories prior to the defeat. He holds an overall record of 27-10-1 including 25 knockouts and finishes of Denis Kang, Kazuo Misaki, Evangelista Santos, and Mark Hunt.
The 26-4-2 Khalidov has long been labeled as one of Europe’s elite competitors. He has scored stoppages against all but one of the opponents he’s beaten with a solid balance between knockouts/submissions. Among the opponents he’s beaten are the likes of Grove, Jorge Santiago, and Matt Lindland.
