Sarah Kaufman scratched from October clash with Kaitlin Young

Bantamweight Sarah Kaufman trained her tail off for an August outing against Strikeforce champion Ronda Rousey only to suffer a sub-minute submission loss. Though Kaufman was hoping get back into the swing of things as soon as possible, signing for an October fight with Kaitlin Young, the talented Canadian competitor will unfortunately be unable to compete due to an undisclosed injury she sustained while training.

“First fight I’ve ever had to pull out of so I’m sorry (Young, Invicta FC) and all my fans,” wrote Kaufman on Twitter, also adding her frustration about her return to the ring being delayed.

Young will now lock horns with Leslie Smith who she fought to a draw with in April. The Invicta FC 3 card is scheduled for October 6 in Kansas City.

Meanwhile, Kaufman has been left with an unknown amount of time on the sidelines ahead of her. A former Strikeforce title-holder, she holds an overall record of 15-2 with ten TKOs to her credit.

Was looking forward to this fight. It would of had more action then any five Rousey fights together.
Rhonda is very good at what she does, but I could see how other fighters would not be thrilled about her sucess. As of now she’s a one trick pony.

I also was really looking forward to this fight, hope to see Sarah back soon. As for Rousey I do not mind the fact that all her fights end quickly because she is so good, it is awesome watching her completly dominate her division like this.
