Jose Aldo injured in accident but still expected to fight at UFC 153

A few bumps and bruises are nothing new to UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo. However, the damage he sustained over the weekend came as the result of a far more frightening scenario than anything the 25-year old faces inside the gym or cage on a regular basis.

Aldo was involved in an accident on Saturday where his motorcycle was hit by a passing car. Fortunately, “Scarface” escaped the incident with some superficial damage and a swollen foot but no major injuries. He has since undergone medical treatment and is still in line for his October 13 title-defense against Frankie Edgar at UFC 153.

According to a report from TATAME, Aldo’s coach stated his star pupil should be back to training full speed by next week and confirmed he won’t be riding his motorcycle again before his bout with Edgar.

Jeez, its going to get to the point where the UFC is going to keep its fighters in a padded room close to fight time

  • Richard Stabone says:

    Hmmm… time for a 5oz user poll:

You must deliver a package from Point A to Point B… in order to save a UFC event from being canceled!!

Which mode of transportation will you choose?

    A) Hitching a ride on the back of Aldo’s motorcyle thru the streets of Rio de Janeiro?

    B) Buckling into the backseat of sloshed Bones Jones’ Bentley?

    C) Monster truckin’ with Rampage?

After all, most of us don’t have the luxury of ridin’ in style in a limo with JT Money.
