Bellator announces Season 7 welterweight field including Lyman Good, Marius Zaromskis

Bellator is gearing up for their final season on MTV2 before the organization heads over to Spike TV in 2013 and looks to be going out with a bang, at least based on the Season 7 Welterweight Tournament field. The company revealed the quarterfinal match-ups earlier today with the group featuring a number of highly-touted newcomers as well as notable competitors including former divisional champ Lyman Good.

Good is set to clash with Jim Wallhead in the main event at Bellator 74. The show is scheduled for September 28 in Atlantic City.

The non-Santos “Cyborg” is coming off a thirteen second knockout in April and holds an overall record of 12-2. Meanwhile, Wallhead is 23-6 and was last seen picking up back-to-back wins over Frank Trigg and Joey Villasenor. However, he hasn’t fought since December 2011 and is certainly getting a stiff test in his return to action after the extended break.

Other quarterfinal fights include TUF alumnus Nordine Taleb against hard-hitting kickboxer Marius Zaromskis, Black House MMA product Jordan Smith scrapping with unbeaten Andrey Koreshkov, and 9-3 finisher Tim Welch mixing it up against streaking Russian Michail Tsarev.
