Tony Ferguson vs. Yves Edwards added to TUF 14 Finale

The UFC has announced that last season’s Ultimate Fighter winner, Tony Ferguson, will compete alongside the four finalists from TUF 14 on December 3 when he takes to the cage against Yves Edwards as part of the Ultimate Fighter Season 14 Finale.

The 27-year old Ferguson will be going for his sixth straight stoppage when he faces the vastly more-experienced Edwards including a pair of TKOs in his two post-show appearances. “El Cucuy” was last seen breaking Aaron Riley’s jaw in September at UFC 135 and subsequently forcing the ringside physician to call for the bout’s ending based on Riley’s inability to continue.

Edwards, who has 59 professional bouts in comparison to Ferguson’s fourteen, found success earlier this month by picking up a second stanza TKO over Rafaello Oliveira at UFC Live 6. The victory was his fourth in five fights and ninth inside the Octagon.

In addition to determining the season’s bantamweight and featherweight champions, TUF 14’s live conclusion will also feature a showdown between coaches Jason Miller and Michael Bisping.

  • MickeyC says:

I dig that the coaches are fighting on the finale, I think it is the way it should be.

  • MCM says:

I agree MickeyC. The problem is, most of the time the fighters are the attraction and more money can be made by using TUF to build up a PPV headline. It’s only when they are trying to build up a division that the coaches take a back seat and wind up fighting at the finale. (season 5).

Edwards is a tough test but I think Ferguson has the goods to beat him. I still don’t like the guy, but he may be one of the most talented fighters to ever come off the show.

  • Rich S. says:

Edwards is a long-time favorite of mine. I do think he’s a tough test for Ferguson, but I’m worried about his chin.

Ferguson has some serious lead in his hands for a 155’er.
