The expectations for tomorrow night’s title-fight between champion Jon Jones and hard-hitting superstar Quinton “Rampage” Jackson match the elevation of the city the bout will be held in, Denver, and for good reason given both fighters’ accomplishments in MMA.
Before Jackson and Jones round the final bend towards golden glory and a chance to settle their personal differences at UFC 135 both will have to step on the scale and make weight later today at 6:00 PM EST. Joining them will be Matt Hughes, Josh Koscheck, Takanori Gomi, Nate Diaz, and the rest of the evening’s scheduled competitors.
As expected, Jackson and Jones had an intense staredown complete with trash talk and Jones actually looking Jackson in his eyes. Both men received a mix of cheers and boos as they stepped on the scale. On the undercard, things got heated between Assuncao and Yagin as the two had to be separated while Ring gave Boetsch a little forehead bump before walking away.
