List of TUF 14 contestants features big show vets, undefeated prospects

Spike TV has revealed the list of 32 fighters competing on the upcoming season of the Ultimate Fighter with designs on a TUF trophy and the attached UFC contract. Among the names, whose initial pairings will all be shown on a special two-hour premiere this September 21, are a number of notable up-and-comers including a few individuals with previous experience in Bellator and WEC as well as quartet of undefeated youngsters.

The sixteen men emerging with their hands raised after the elimination round will all move on to compete throughout the rest of the season as part of a team coached by either Jason “Mayhem” Miller or Michael Bisping. The last four men standing – two featherweights, two bantamweights – will face off on December 3 at the show’s a live finale, the last on Spike before the reality show moves to FX in the spring.

What’s the deal with Mayhem? I heard he got arrested for restraining his sister via choke at a house party?!? Then later in the week Tim Kennedy was Tweet’n something about wanting to take his spot on the finale?? I really hope that he’s still fighting Bisping and that this isn’t another wasted season…

  • edub says:

I’m taking Micah Miller to win it all at 145. You guys sure Rivera’s not competing as a bantamweight?

  • hindsightufuk says:

there is actually some real nice talent lined up here, i’ll be rooting for Paul McVeigh from Dinky Ninjas for one.
yeah heard about mayhem, believe he was released on bail for assualt and false imprisonment after putting his sister in a headlock. false imprisonment from a headlock? thats far fucking fetched

  • Creature says:

I doubt Mayhen will get in any serious trouble, 1. its his sister prolly being over dramatic. 2. they were at a party, she wanted leave, was prolly drunk or something so he tried stopping here, and if she was able to get out of the headlock, it prolly wasnt all the tight around her so no damage would be done

  • Rich S. says:

There appears to be some nice talent lined up for this season. A lot of solid records.

Some of the recent seasons have made me look back at the beginning and wonder where all the warriors went. Back in the day, we had guys like Diego Sanchez and Rashad Evans on the show, undefeated with wins in the teens.

It just seems like each season over the last few years has had less and less experienced fighters. Or the fighters were experienced, but had about as many losses as wins. Quite a few guys with 20+ fight careers this season, though.

PLUS, it features bantam and featherweights. We should be in for a good one.

  • Frankmur says:

Joe Rogan indicated on his Podcast that Mayhem was driving Bisbing crazy with pranks and headgames. Should be an entertaining season!

  • goodguy_878 says:

WAR BASS! Stephen is a great fighter with a personality that will make for great television if (when!) he makes it into the house. I hope that he doesn’t run into Micah early. I always pulled for Micah in his WEC fights and always hated when he wasn’t victorious.
