Top prospects are set to collide in Toronto as lightweights John Cholish and Mitch Clarke have agreed to square off at UFC 140. Both men will be making their UFC debuts and looking to prove that the hype behind them is real.
News of the match-up was first reported by MMAWeekly.com
A former Cornell wrestler, Cholish is 7-1 in his MMA career, finishing all but one of his opponents. He dropped his first professional bout but has gone on to win seven straight, including a submission victory over Ultimate Fighter alum Marc Stevens at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva. The Renzo Gracie student also holds a submission victory over former WEC competitor Jameel Massouh. When he’s not training and fighting, Cholish works as a stockbroker in New York.
Clarke may not hold any notable victories but he was voted the Edmonton Fighter of the Year and is undefeated in nine professional fights. The majority of Clarke’s victories have come by way of submission.
UFC 140 is scheduled for December 10 and will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.
