Curran, Sandro, Mann, and Malegarie advance to “Summer Series” semis with wins at Bellator 46

Bellator is back with one of their trademark tourneys, this time a featherweight affair featuring eight of the sport’s top 145ers including Marlon Sandro, Pat Curran, and Ronnie Mann. Bellator 46 marks the first of the promotion’s three-card “Summer Series” where a top contender will come away with a crack at Joe Warren‘s championship and a six-figure paycheck.

All four of the quarter-final favorites advanced to the next round with three finishing performances in the bunch. Mann knocked adversary Adam Schindler out with a series of strikes on the ground after putting him on his kiester with a well-timed left hook, while Nazareno Malegarie lived up to his grappling credentials with a third-round Guillotine Choke of Jacob Devree.

Also worth noting, Curran’s return to 145-pounds was a highly successful one after scoring a Peruvian Neck-Tie submission over Peruvian opponent Luis Palamino.

After the event CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the semi-finals will involve Mann vs. Curran and Malegarie vs. Sandro.
