Strikeforce looking at Vegas debut this summer

In a continuing effort to make the term “business as usual” a joke’s punchline, it appears Zuffa officials are eying Las Vegas for a Strikeforce Challengers event on July 22 at The Pearl, a familiar venue for MMA fans recalling the numerous UFC/WEC events held in the same space. Assuming things proceed as planned it will mark Strikeforce’s debut in Sin City and will likely be the first of multiple Challengers cards being held in what was essentially the UFC’s exclusive stomping grounds over the past few years.

The possibility of a Strikeforce stop in Las Vegas was first reported by ESPN.

No bouts have been targeted for the July date. However, the event should be labeled Strikeforce Challengers 17 with Strikeforce Challengers 16 already scheduled for June 24 in Kent, Washington, and will undoubtedly feature a nice blend of potential-laden prospects and skilled veterans given the general format of the Strikeforce Challengers series.

Hopefully Strikeforce being bought by Zuffa results in us seeing a lot more of it on tv in Australia because it barely gets a sniff in at the moment.
Oh yeah and fuck off Ranalo. Bring on Schiavello and Bas!

This will probably help the live gate increase
