I can’t wait for this Saturday!!!

    3 Best of Pride’s
    UFC 128 Prelims LIVE
    Bellator 37 LIVE
    UFC 128 LIVE

Awesome evening there. And it even worked out so that the new Best of Pride’s end an hour before Bellator 37, which happens to be exactly the length of the Countdown to UFC 128 that’s showing after the last Best of Pride, then I get to see if Bellator keeps delivering on what’s shaping up to be an amazing tournament season, and Bellator’s event happens to end at the exact right time to flip over to the UFC Prelims, and then it’s on to the main UFC card! Holy crap we’ve got MMA from before noon (central standard) till midnight! 12+ straight hours of my favorite sport; It’s like the programming god’s are making up for skipping my birthday this year :)

Shit yeah, I’m with you man. Loving the Bellator weekly offering and some free prelims never hurt anyone.

I will say though, my DVR has had a negative affect on my viewing pleasure. With that little bastard recording everything, the urgency and excitement of a live card are lost and I find my self meandering into the kitchen and then coming back and rewinding…..except sometimes it’s like….well, it’s round two and I came back in at 3:35 on the clock….there they are….do I really need to know what happened in that first minute and a half….nahhh…fuck DVRs. I hate ’em.

  • Dufresne says:

I hear you man. I try to watch the events as they progress as often as possible because you’re right, there’s just something off about watching a recorded sports event. It doesn’t matter if I don’t know any of the results, there’s just less excitement most of the time. I can’t imagine cards like UFC 116 or WEC 53 having the same gut churning intensity if I had watched them the day after, knowing I could just look up the results of the fights if I wanted to.

That’s one of the reasons I’m so stoked about this weekend, it’s laid out so perfectly I won’t even be touching the pause button.
