Nine UFC 125 fighters, including both headliners, receive medical suspensions

This past Saturday may have been great for fans tuning in to “UFC 125: Resoultion” but it was a nightmare for noses. Though the fights far from stunk, four of the evening’s competitors walked away from their match-ups with problematic proboscises and will be sidelined for at least a few months as a result including main-event fighter Frank Edgar. Joining Edgar on the list of nasal fractures were Marcus Davis, Phil Baroni, and of course Brandon Vera. The quartet of men will all be out until at least March 3, 2011 with the possibility of the date becoming July 1 pending clearance from a doctor.

News of the medical suspensions was released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Also notably sidelined due to damage sustained at UFC 125, Chris Leben will be out until February 16 at the earliest based on being knocked out by Brian Stann, Gray Maynard must avoid full contact drills for a few weeks courtesy of some facial lacerations, and Josh Grispi must have his jaw X-Rayed and could be on mandated vacation until July depending on what the results reveal.

Here is a complete breakdown of UFC 125 medical suspension information:

I have never seen so many nasal fractures on one of these posts…

Marcus Davis needs to take this medical suspension and get some other work done. The guy has so much scar tissue around his eyes that he gets cut in the first round of almost every fight these days. He needs to do what Wandy did, get the scar tissue reduced and have them shave down some of the bone, otherwise he’s gonna be losing a lot more fights simply because he can’t see or because the doctors stop the fight.
