A Cut Too Far – Marloes Coenen at 135 Against Sarah Kaufman Tonight

Sarah Kaufman never, ever, pulls a punch.

She’s not afraid to tell the boss what’s wrong with his line of reasoning, and so far, she’s been straight on the money. She got herself on a money, fight in front of the television audience fight by talking straight, and she damn well deserves some love for that:

“I do see where people are saying she’s never fought at 135, which she hasn’t, so to get a title shot immediately is something people have been definitely criticizing. I can see their reasoning behind it. Why have a tournament and then have someone else fight for the title before them? But I’m just happy and I think she’s a great opponent. Hopefully she proves everyone wrong and she’s going to stay at 135.”

Marleos deserves the shot for sure, the winner of the tournament gets the next shot but they needed a challenger in between and Marleos fits the bill very well. First she is going to be pretty big for 135, second she proved she has a solid chin by taking all Cyborg had and still moving forward, and third she beat Roxanne Modifferi very quickly where it took Sarahthree rounds and a lucky mistake to get the W.

Yes Marleos proved all the doubters wrong, nice work, she controlled Sarah striking and got the armbar.
