Exclusive: UFC parts ways with Rodney Wallace

Five Ounces of Pain has learned from sources close to the situation that light heavyweight Rodney “Sho Nuff the Master” Wallace has been released by the UFC.

Wallace most recently lost by unanimous decision to Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis at UFC 117 this past August. It was the third consecutive decision loss for Wallace and the ninth time in twelve total bouts he’s gone the distance.

Wallace is 9-3 in his career, meaning he was undefeated prior to signing with the UFC, and holds past wins over Antwain Britt and Ovince St. Preux. The victory over Britt is of particular note, as it came in the third fight of a single-night tournament in September 2009.

  • Angry Mike says:

Has this guy been on a televised fight on a UFC card? I’ve never heard of him. If he’s 0 for 3 in the UFC, maybe that’s why.

  • TerribleT says:

I don’t know how Wallace ever even made it to the UFC in the 1st place but Jarred Hamman is sure glad he did cuz although he’s 1-2 in the UFC with losses to Kyle Kingsbury & the great Alexander Gustafsson, “Sho Nuff Da’ Master” Wallace is his lone UFC WIN. Then again how the hell did Hamman ever get signed on with the UFC himself? WTF?!

  • Rece Rock says:

    Whose da master…?

Guess he didn’t have the Glow.

  • boomnutz says:

poor guy, he only had a punchers chance at beating Davis…he was setup for failure, whatever though he didn’t have much of a chance anyway
