On the eve of Bellator Fighting Championships’ much-anticipated debut in the state of Wisconsin, the fighters competing in tomorrow’s event participated in an official weigh-in earlier this evening with all results coming in as expected meaning the event will go on as originally scheduled.

Also in action, and competing for the other heavyweight slot, Alexey Oleinik will face hard-hitting Brit Neil “Goliath” Grove.

The complete list of weigh-in results are as follows:

Nick Dupees (153.2 lbs) vs. Sasa Perkic (154.6 lbs)
Luis Ramirez (184.2 lbs) vs. Kyle Weickhardt (183.4 lbs)
Alexey Oleinik (231.2 lbs) vs. Neil Grove (262.6 lbs)
Matt Major (185.6 lbs) vs. Brett Cooper (184.6 lbs)
Jameel Massouh (142 lbs) vs. Nick Mamalis (139.6 lbs)
Damian Grabowski (241 lbs) vs. Cole Konrad (265.8 lbs)

Alright….they gave Jason Guida a fight. Dude has a horrible record, but there’s only one way to fix that.

Looking forward to Mamalis’ fight and of course looking forward to finding out who the HW final fighters will be. I’m thinking Konrad vs. Grove is the most likely outcome.

  • argyle says:

1.) Ulysses Gomez pulls out of the tournament.
2.) Travis Reddinger lost a close split decision and is ready to fight.
3.) Bryan Goldsby is booked to fight at Bellator 29.
4.) They pull Goldsby out of his fight with Jameel Massouh.
5.) This puts the card down to 7 fights, one less than Wisconsin state law. Not good
6.) After Massouh puts his weight back on, Bellator tells him he’s fighting on the main card in Goldsby’s spot.
7.) As a result to Bellator’s matchmaker’s intriguing decision, WI state law is broken and Massouh misses weight.

8.) Justin Lemke weighs in at 207.8. Jason Guida is 215. That’s a 7.2 pound difference. the fight is a catchweight fight.
9.) WI state law says that there may be no more than a 7 lb. difference between fighters in a catchweight fight.

    What a fiasco.

This will be the first time I will be able to see Konrad fight live-I can’t help but think that all of Brock Lesnars training partners are grossly out of shape-You just don’t see that happening in the lower weight shark tanks
