UFC veteran Jim Miller receives black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (VIDEO)

UFC veteran lightweight Jim Miller recently reached a plateau in his extensive grappling career, becoming only the fourth athlete to receive his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from the decorated Jamie Cruz.

Cruz is himself a black belt under the legendary Renzo Gracie and currently trains BJJ out of AMA Fight Club to UFC fighters such as Dan Miller, Charlie Brenneman and Ricardo Romero, among others.

Miller sports a professional record of 17-2, which includes an impressive UFC record of 6-1. Miller is currently riding a four-fight win streak in the Octagon and is expected to face off with Gleison Tibau at “UFC Fight Night 22” in Austin, Texas.

we won’t mention the inappropriate use of the word veteran yet again and just say that Jim should be fighting contenders on the main card at this stage instead of Gleison Tibau. i know Gleison is solid but Jim has a fucking good record and should be fighting the likes of Stephenson/Sherk/Griffin/Dunham/Guida etc so he can be launched as a challenger. Personally would love to see him fight George Sotiropoulos next, thatd be the shit

I think he definitely belongs on the main card if he wins this fight.

I think the only reason they haven’t put him up there already is because he tends to go to decision. But he’s got serious skills and brings it every time I’ve seen him out, so it’s not like he’s winning snoozefests. I would like to see him fight someone like Guida next, personally. Someone that will push his cardio and ground skills for a full 15 min if needed. If he can handle that kind of pressure, put him in with the top guys and let’s see where he goes.
