The news of Morecraft’s signing with the UFC and pairing with Struve at UFC 117 comes courtesy of a recent report at MMAJunkie.com.
Struve will be looking to jump back into the win column following a disappointing first round TKO defeat suffered at the plus-sized hands of Roy “Big Country” Nelson in March. The 6’11” “Skyscraper” boasts a career record of 19-4 and a UFC record of 3-2 with notable victories over the likes of Paul Buentello and Chase Gormley on his resume.
The 23-year-old Morecraft has racked up an undefeated record of 6-0 outside of the UFC. Even more impressive than the unblemished record, the massive 6’5″ 265 lb. Massachusetts based heavyweight has finished every one of his opponents in the opening round.
UFC 117 is expected to take place from Oakland, California on August 7 while featuring a middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen.
