It appears that fans of always-entertaining lightweight Clay Guida will have a chance to see his trademark mane in action at some point this August. Though no opponent or specific date was mentioned, “The Carpenter” recently took to his Twitter account and confirmed he would be back inside the Octagon come late summer.
“Looks like I got my next fight lined up! I’m so pumped, I’m fighting in August! Just got the bout agreement!”
The UFC has two events currently scheduled for the month in question. UFC 117 is set to take place on August 7th in Oakland, while August 28th marks UFC 118 and the company’s historic debut in Boston. Guida (26-11) most recently submitted Shannon Gugerty this past March 21st at the ”UFC on Versus” event. The second-round win broke a two-fight losing streak for the seemingly tireless 155-pounder and was his sixth in the Octagon.
