Spencer Fisher vs. Duane Ludwig on tap for UFC on Versus

What is sure to be a lightweight slugfest between fellow strikers Spencer Fisher and Duane Ludwig is looking likely to take place at the UFC on Versus event that will be aired live on VERSUS.

The event will take place from the Odeum Arena in Broomfield, Colorado on March 21.

Bout agreements for both fighters are currently being finalized according to a recent report on

Fisher will be looking to bounce back from his UFC 104 defeat at the hands of Joe Stevenson following a three fight win streak inside of the Octagon fencing, while Ludwig is likely in a sink or swim situation with his recent return to the UFC ending tragically as the Denver based striker submitted to a Jim Miller armbar in the first round at UFC 108.

Also made official for the card are match-ups including Jon Jones vs. Brandon Vera, Anthony Johnson vs. John Howard and Eliot Marshall vs. Vladimir Matyushenko.

This is a good opportunity for “The King” to get back to his winning ways. Also, I can not wait for “Bones” to demolish Vera.

  • moosebaby02 says:

hell ya this card is looking good. Fisher should win this one

  • fanoftna33 says:

A very good fight to give all the people with vs. I would lean towards Ludwig here as I think the showing against Miller is more due to him being a late replacement and not really being “on” that night and hopefully we see these two guys at there best because it could be a fight for everybody to remember.

  • Jstew3785 says:

Will be nice to see what Ludwig can do with some time to train and cut weight properly. He looked emaciated at the weigh ins against Miller. This should be a good striking match.

  • Guthookd says:

Hell yeah. This one should be good. Both Fisher and Ludwig can throw hands like crazy. Both have good chins.

    Can’t wait.

  • I give this one to Fisher for sure. Both can bang but Fisher I think is on the other level.

  • Rece Rock says:

UFC is really putting together a decent card for there Vs debut…

hope they start to put that effort into promoting the WEC a bit better on versus aswell, they need to brand both promotions not just UFC if they really want to dominate the sport and all it’s weight classes. Good job on the card thus far though.
