I can’t see this at work…but from my understanding, Dana takes the time to introduce Gilbert Yvel in this video blog. Which is a smart move, considering probably 90% of UFC fans have no idea who he is.

I just recently finally got to see the video where Gilbert clocks the referee. And let me just say…LOL! It was hilarious.

I am one who is leaning to the side that says the ref deserved. I mean WTF was he doing? Breaking them up, resetting them, breaking them up, resetting them…it made no sense and then BOOM! Gilbert cracked that freakin ref with a devastating left hook that put him on his butt. Then to add insult to injury, Gilbert kicked him back down as he was trying to get up…meanwhile, Gilbert’s opponenet made B-line to his corner and promptly got the F outta there.

It was a crazy scene…and although Gilbert was the one who was most at fault…I’m not holding this assault and battery against him. That ref got what he had coming.

And one last thing that is completely off-topic…when the award for Best Fight of the Year rolls around can you guys not forget about Quarry-Creduer?

I keep seeing that fight get snubbed on every single ‘Best Fight’ list…meanwhile, Sanchez-Guida from that same card is getting all the glory.

That makes no sense and it’s pissing me off!

Sanchez vs. Guida was exciting for the first few minutes, but after that it’s just more classic Guida-humping with Diego slashing the top of his head with elbows adding the blood effect. Good fight, yes…but how can it be considered better than the all-out slugfest by Quarry and Creduer from earlier that same night? I mean how many knockdowns were in that fight?

    Quarry-Creduer was epic…

Please don’t ignore it, 5 ozs.

Lesnar plays the heel by trash talking. Yvel plays the part with hijinks like biting opponents and slugging refs. Maybe he maintians his composure because he’s in the “Big Show” and maybe he loses it in a big fight and does something dirty. We’ll see.

    Don’t forget about Gilbert’s illegl eye-pokes too.

It’s a miracle Don Frye has any vision left after their fight at Pride 16.

I mean if Don Frye wasn’t Don Frye…he would have probably been left permanently blinded by the repeated blatant eye gouges from Yvel. They were ridiculous.

I wouldnt be surprised if Dos Santos pulls out his ground game with a sub, Ivel can stand and brag with the best of them but ground game is terrible..
