Pudzian’s MMA Debut: Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Marcin Najman (Video)

As anticipated, 5X World Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski recently made his professional fighting debut in Warsaw, Poland as the headliner for KSW 12.

Capturing the Worlds Strongest Man honors on a record setting five occasions during the years of 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008, Pudzianowski is also commonly referred to as Pudzian, Super Mario, Dominator and the Big Python. The massively proportioned heavyweight has been studying and training in martial arts since just eleven years of age, beginning in Karate before training in competitive boxing for over seven years running.

Check out the debut of the Big Python below…

A little sloppy sure, but keep in mind it’s his debut. Either way, there’s no question about it, dude can fight. How far he can go in the sport is a big question mark right now, but if Brock can make a full recovery, and Pudzian can get a couple legit wins under his belt…. I’m just saying.

What a beast. I’ve been following him for a long time in the world’s strongest man comps and have always liked super mario. Now here’s someone who could push Brock around with relative ease. Hopefully he can pass the drug tests and learn to keep his hands up while he’s throwing those leg kicks.
Or better still sign up with strikeforce and take on Fedor.
Either way he’s a very interesting prospect that’s for sure.

  • Makington says:

His very own entrance rapper to walk with him?!

    Jason Miller would be jealousssssss.

  • Dufresne says:

Those leg kicks looked nasty! Definitely not a bad debut.

I don’t think he’s ready for Brock or Fedor, he’s incredibly strong, but the majority of his life hasn’t been spent studying a combat sport as those two’s have. He’s 32, so he’s getting slightly late start, but it still gives him more than enough time to develop into a monster of a fighter. With his brute strength it shouldn’t be too hard for him to learn a few techniques and just let him maul people.

  • Vogairian says:

I don’t think he could ever clear a pre-fight test. Also, any idea what his weight was?

  • elkymbo says:

I think he weighed in at BLOODY HUGE:)

  • elkymbo: I think he weighed in at BLOODY HUGE:)

LOL , ,221 pounds to 277. Well that is a bloody huge difference. Mariusz Pudzianowski threw some seriously gnarly leg kicks and for surely has a killer instinct. I like what I saw…More MORE MORE!!!

  • elkymbo says:

Somebody PLEASE make the heavyweight weight limit in the UFC 285!

  • slammy862 says:

He looks big and strong, but pudz was amped for this fight. If he wouldn’t have ended this fight early I am positive he would have passed out after the first round.

He’s big and strong, but waay too stiff yet. Big fella is gonna have a problem with gassing trying to feed those muscles if he doesn’t control his heart rate better.

Looks like a beast for the future, though.

  • Connor Cobain says:

Oh my God! Get this guy some more wins and send his ass in the UFC. Can you see him fight Brock or Shane? Jesus he’s beastly

  • Unabomberman says:

How will the dude not tire out in, say, a three round fight? Dude seriously needs to shed some weight.

Screw that leave him huge so he can crush people.

  • dpk says:

Japan would love this guy. Hopefully he can get 2-3 more wins, and then UFC will at least give him a shot. His pure strength makes him a difficult challenge for anyone, and his marketability in his home country also has to make him very attractive.

  • Rich S. says:

    Well, that wasn’t too hard..

The guy seems like a beast..
    Those soccer-leg-kicks looked PAINFUL..

  • Nick Havok says:

    Damn…the video is gone now.

  • adamsfamily says:

He looked good for a debut and I suppose its the right sort of performance to send a message out there from a marketability point of view. Slick near armbar by the ref!

  • Bad Monkey says:

champion of what? your statement is not very precise.
also, i think its very bold to say that after one fight against who? lets just name him victim…

but i have agree that he looked good, his leg kicks were lethal and he has aggression. but there are still a lot of questions remaining. lets see how he can answer them in a ring/cage or at a drug test. :)

  • qat says:

    @Agi
    source: wikipedia

‘He initially finished third in the WSM contest in 2004 but was later disqualified after testing positive for a banned performance enhancing substance. He was forced to return his prize money, stripped of the International Federation of Strength Athletes points from the event, and received a one-year ban from competition. Pudzianowski did not dispute his banned substance violation and waived his right to have his stool sample verified.[citation needed] He then returned to win the title for a third time in 2005.’

question remains, did he slipped and used it once, or did he just fail to get it out of his system soon enough? im not saying he is on juice right now, but you cannot say he never took nothing.

  • gueda says:

sorry i was wrong ..he should go horse pulling that’s what he as in his blood horse hormone..lolll. if he come fight in the us and if he pass the drug test,he would have no stamina and much less expolosif.

  • Angry Mike says:

An impressive tribute to chemistry. The dude should be sponsored by pharmaceutical companies.

  • gueda says:

they all do stéroid and the best one is the one who don’t get cut.

  • gueda says:

where you have human you have cheatting!sad to say ….but the truth.

  • Pajamashark says:

Give him a secret supply of clean urine and a couple of gimmie fight wins in the UFC and then throw this man into the cage with Brock so we can see them collide like two bull elephants that make the ground shake under them.

  • gueda says:

i’m a bit scare that strikeforce will try to signed him to have there own freak!..

  • hegartyb says:

Vogairian, I read Pudzian weighed 313. I don’t see any way he gets down to 265 to fight in the UFC.

  • BigDave says:

if he fights in the u.s. he is gonna get piss tested and if he passes then good. Don’t just assume he is on roids.

  • Porsche930_Pilot says:

This is the kind of fighter that will make the heavy weight fights in the UFC awesome. Who wouldn’t love to see this guy and Lesner tear it up?.

  • polish_force says:

    Pudzianowski vs. Lesner

That would be interesting. However Mariusz needs to move up a long way yet to get arranged fight with likes of Brock.

All I know if this guys remains in MMA can have great career ahead. I have been live to his 3 world’s strongest man contest and seen him live during training session. Mariusz is insane, his strenght is next to none. Mariusz can lift over 200 lbs in one hand. I think Brock, however very strong, can’t compare to Mariusz. Pudzianowski will crush him. But it all depends on technique and hits, not just sheer power. If mariusz gets 1 or 2 precise hits landed on his head he’s done. When his was kicking that poor fella around the ring during this debut, any experienced MMA will land few punches on his face, easily. When Mariusz grabs anybody, be that Brock or Fedor, that guy is in a big trouble, telling you. It’s like bear fighting human. Doesn’t matter human has technique and bear not. Strenght is overpowering. I’m looking forward to see more of Pudzinowski, this guy has achieved all was there to achieve in strongest man contest, he is serious about his job and will put 150% into fights too, I’m sure.

  • buzzcramp says:

BigDave: if he fights in the u.s. he is gonna get piss tested and if he passes then good. Don’t just assume he is on roids.

Yeah.. just by looking at him how could we assume he’s roiding? Maybe he just drinks alot of milk.. or eats whole cows or something. Roiding? Nah.

  • retrofitting123 says:

he already lost 30lbs and weighed in at 276.8

  • keyboardwarrior says:

dude is massive, hope he gets some experience and can step it up to some real competition

  • Paul88 says:

OMG! u r fools who think that this stupid “mass of protein” can ever reach the FEDOR in SPEED or technic!! who said something about fight between animals like bear with human, or some think like : oooh…there is no way to fight against bear or Pudzian is incrbl. strong… it’s sh………t!!!! BEAR is dangerous couse hi got BIG NAILS , SHARP TEETH AND STRONG JAWS! I think Mario don’t have any….))) His brute STR mean NOTHING … U can lift 500KG but ur punches can be weak!! I think u r far away from Mart.Arts))))and u r naive if u think that brute power is more important than technique and skills that improve only in fighting. For example Fedor Have three trainings per day for years and years ! his boxing skills is very unique and it’s very difficult for his apponent to adapt to it!Plus Fedor perfectly use his weight and weight of his apponent ! Main principle of SAMBO that Fedor USE perfectly is to use strength of opponent against him self!
An d u really think that Mario have a chance to beat Fedor, or Lesnar?))LOOOL!)
