I really wish I could wager money on these fights. I’m in Vancouver and I don’t know if there are facilities to bet on UFC in Canada

  • JollyDV says:

save you money hon.you never know how one of these fights turns out.

  • king mah mah says:

I wonder if Machida drank his urine this morning! LOL

  • king mah mah says:

Shogun might think Machida’s mouth is the village porta pottie! LOL

  • king mah mah says:

Seriously though, I’m kinda hoping Shogun wins this.

  • JollyDV says:

you never know king, he may just do that.

  • bigbadjohn says:

I hope Shogun wins too. Like I said it’s too freaking bad I can’t lay down some bills on that fight. Machida is so heavily favored

  • king mah mah says:

Yeah my money would be on Shogun too. I think he’ll be back to his old pride form.

  • JollyDV says:

remember you both said that, I am going w/ Machida on this one/

  • David Andrest says:

All the money is with Sonnen, Rothwell, and Shogun all with crazy odds, hard to lay money anywhere else.

There are picks from the heart , and picks for the cash. The 3 above are all about the cash.

  • king mah mah says:

I will remember it, considering I’m not actually betting tonight! LOL Yeah I know it’s hard to go against Lyoto on this, but someone will take him sooner or later……..I think. LOL

  • JollyDV says:

I just hope it is later.:)

  • JollyDV says:

I have no idea how the betting thing and odds works, I have never bet on a fight before. If someone feels up to it, jump in and give me a block of instruction.

  • king mah mah says:

Normally in a case like this you would have to put up like $250 on Machida just to win $100

  • king mah mah says:

Not sure exactly what the odds are though

  • king mah mah says:

Machida might be 3 or 4 to 1 favorite, not sure

  • JollyDV says:

i will just keep my money.

  • JollyDV says:

    22 minutes till prelims starts

  • king mah mah says:

  • JollyDV says:

king, you have spike to watch the two undercard shows?

  • helterskelter says:

Struve is quickly impressing me as one of the toughest SOB’s at HW. He surprised a bunch of people tonight, much like his last fight when he was carved up like a pumpkin and came back to win.

  • JollyDV says:

rd 2 was a bit slow but scored for Al-Hassan. Kingsbury’s tape was coming off his gloves at the end of the round.

  • Rich S. says:

Wow, I actually had Rivera by TKO r3 first minute on my UFC fantasy card, and i changed it last minute… :(

Also, a little surprised Hardonk just lost like that.. He looked slow and unresponsive to me.. He wasn’t blocking anything early on, so I knew it was only a matter of time before he got dropped at that point.. Just thought he’d do a bit better..

  • JOEgun says:

JollyDV good call. Hardonk’s hands looked terrible and wasnt blocking well at all and it cost him the fight. Barrys punkches were quick and made Hardonk look slow. That was entertaining!

  • JollyDV says:

    I agree JBAR

  • JollyDV says:

That would of been nice David, It would cost a lot less than the money.

  • JollyDV says:

  • TheZoomZoomKid says:

    Bull.

  • BigDave says:

Machida may have been givin a champions call but i had it 3-2 shogun

  • Vogairian says:

Wanted to see Machida win, but Shogun was robbed. One of the worst decisions I’ve seen.

  • neijia says:

Dang, nearly impossible to call. Shogun with leg kicks but Lyoto appeared to land several kicks + more punches. Rogan is once again such a one-sided commentator. Surprised it went UD, though. I thought for sure it would be SD

  • JOEgun says:

THAT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! SHOGUN IS THE REAL CHAMPION!!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!! IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!!IMMEDIATE REMATCH!!!!

  • king mah mah says:

If this decision isn’t reversed, I’ll never order another ufc again! FUCKING BULLSHIT!! SHOGUN IS THE CHAMPION! This just proves that mma is becoming like boxing with results like this!

  • cocoonofhorror says:

Shogun won every single round. Cecil and the other 2 judges need to be shot. not fired, not sanctioned, taken out back and shot in the fucking face. that decision is a travesty and a blight on the sport of MMA.

THE REAL LHW CHAMPION OF THE WORLD IS SHOGUN.

  • Makington says:

I don’t know if anyone other than those 3 judges thought Lyoto won the fight, go figure.

I’d be devastated if I were Shogun.

  • king mah mah says:

UN FUCKING REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! machida is a fake champion, and i’ll never order another ppv from the ufc!

  • king mah mah says:

DANA WHITE! IF YOU DON”T FIRE THOSE JUDGES YOU’RE JUST AS BIG OF AN ASSHOLE!!!!!!!

  • ozz_the_powerful says:

    I’m fucking DONE!!!

Cory, you can ban me if you truly want to for the language, but this was fucking BULLSHIT!!!!!!!! Rua WON that fight!!!!

  • ozz_the_powerful says:

wow!!! I am truly bwside myslf right now. If the UFC EVER wants me to buy go out and work and pay for another PPV fron them again, they better do spomething to fix this shit. This is absolutely insane!!!!!

  • BiG BaD BuLL says:

i picked lyoto, but shogun definately won, however, King Mah Mah, Dana doesn’t have the ability to fire the judges…. it’s all through the athletic commision… i don’t know what fight they were watching though. Didn’t cory (I think) just recently address this very issue? they need to expand away from the 10 point must

  • ozz_the_powerful says:

Lets talk about how pissed we are guys!! Call me at Edited to protect the Ozz man

Yes, that’s my phone number, the real one! I’m actually THAT pissed!!

    This is absolute HORSESHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Makington says:

Doubts if I’ll go that far Ozz, but they havvve to do something about the judging. We see this too often where we get the worst decisions I’ve ever seen. Maybe if I start wearing a helmet to school and waving my arms wildly while running through traffic I’ll be offered a job so I can replace these judges.

I haven’t seen one person yet who is on Lyoto’s side. It didn’t even look like Lyoto was on Lyoto’s side.

  • king mah mah says:

ozz, you stole my word! Horseshit is normally my word and fits this situation perfectly! SHOGUN IS THE LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMP!!!!!!!!

  • king mah mah says:

FUCK THE UFC JUDGES!!!!!!!!! FUCK EM!!!!!

  • ch3nch3n says:

I thought Lyoto won the first 3 rounds, though they were pretty damn close… pretty biased commentary.. good fight, Shogun deserves an immediate rematch

  • MMA-LOGIC says:

I just watched it again and Shogun landed more hit harder and did far, far, far more damage. Oh but Machida won. NO HE DID’NT. 5-0 Shogun. Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed Fixed. No doubt in my mind that that fight was fixed. All 3 judges! LIERS!

  • king mah mah says:

I just gave you the thumbs up MMA-LOGIC, cuz you hit the nail right on the head!!!

  • Austintal99 says:

WOW THAT IS ABSOLUTE INSANITY!!!!…..I have now lost all faith in the ufc………

  • Makington says:

Saw the same thing when Oscar De La Hoya was trying to make a come back in boxing. He was given decisions he clearly lost because boxing wanted the crowd he drew. As it is, that kind of judging that was in boxing is one of bigger nails in the coffin for boxing. I really hope they don’t do it to MMA.

I’m still in disbelief, and I know there’s nothing they can do. There really won’t be justice for this.

  • David Andrest says:

Just so we are all clear and informed.

the judges are appointed and assigned by the CSAC, as are the ref’s . Not the UFC.

  • edub says:

    I actually did have it 48-47 Machida……

Noooo no i didnt. Rounds 1 & 2 were pretty close. I had Machida winning the third, and Rua winning the 4th and 5th. I guess you could give the first two to Machida, but I didnt. I personally had it 49-48. With the first two rounds being a draw. Its closer than a lot of people think IMO, but still a robbery.

  • edub says:

Makington: Saw the same thing when Oscar De La Hoya was trying to make a come back in boxing. He was given decisions he clearly lost because boxing wanted the crowd he drew. I think they gotta do an immediate rematch. I was really looking forward to a Shogun/Anderson Silva fight. Shogun fought as perfect as a fight as you can against machida. Kinda wonder if he could do it again.

  • Makington says:

I know eh, and especially since if they had a rematch, Shogun would need to rework a new gameplan that didn’t rely so heavily on leg kicks. We all know how hard a gameplan is to make against Machida. Is it so much to ask for the idiot ref’s to get it right the first time?

  • king mah mah says:

Wheather we’re clear and informed or not, Shogun won that fight and you know it!!!! Don’t try and sugar coat a shitty decision! especially THE WORST DECISION I’VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!

  • ch3nch3n says:

I personally thought the commentary was a little biased and misleading to the viewers… the first two rounds were close but i had Machida edging it out and taking the third as well… close fight hard to judge and Shogun deserves an immediate rematch

  • ozz_the_powerful says:

I’m pissed though. Pissed. Never would I pick a blog to vent this, but c’mon!!

Mazagatti calls a fight to quick, thden the judges score this……. WTF!!!!!

    WTF!!!!!!!!!

  • Makington says:

I wasn’t that concerned about the Velasquez fight being called so fast. I would have rather seen a more obvious call but it looked like all he did was save Ben an even bigger concussion, and stopped his face from being turned into jelly.

  • king mah mah says:

@edub- Why should he have to do it again when he just did it tonight?!

  • paddiosf says:

Its a sad day in MMA world..Something isnt right there with the judges , this takes me back to boxing and the coruption that ruined the sport..It was sad to see his face…Total BS..

  • Makington says:

Because there isn’t anything they can do about what happened tonight. It’s not like Dana can just sneak up behind Lyoto during the post fight presser and sneak the belt over to Shogun and act like everyone just misheard the last half hour of their life.

A rematch is the closest thing to justice, even though I am with edub, Shogun did the fight so perfect that I don’t think he could do it again, and he definitely couldn’t do it with the same plan.

  • edub says:

king mah mah: Wheather we’re clear and informed or not, Shogun won that fight and you know it!!!! Don’t try and sugar coat a shitty decision! especially THE WORST DECISION I’VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!

I dont know if thats against me man, but I agree it was a bad decision. Just the way the rounds are scored it was bound to be closer than we all thought. Damage needs to be addressed in scoring. Rua did at least twice the amount of damage in that fight.

On a side note. Mazzagatti needs to be relieved of his duties. If I was a fighter I would argue with all my power to not have him ref one of my fights. He almost seems power hungry in the cage.

@ paddlos, that’s exactly what I was saying about my De La Hoya comment. You could see it on Shogun’s face. He was too much of a gentleman to admit outright that the judging was skewered.

  • edub says:

king mah mah: @edub- Why should he have to do it again when he just did it tonight?!

    Hahaha true true.

  • Makington says:

It all started happening once he began to shave his mustache away edub, He basically shaved his pride away. That was when he let the bad times roll.

  • king mah mah says:

@Markinton – What the fuck are you talking about? Why should Shogun be forced to beat Machida twice just because people are high on crack?!

  • edub says:

Make hes just made so many bad decisions in big fights I cant even count em all. He should of left when they stopped using larry landless.

  • Makington says:

I think Shogun won by the way. I gave him it 4 rounds to 1, so ease up a little. What I’m saying is there is no way Shogun can do anything about the judges now. Anthony Johnson couldn’t even get his decision overturned after he got his eye ball pushed somewhere in the back of his skull.

The only way for Shogun to get the belt is to beat Machida again, simple.

  • Makington says:

On a side note, did Chael Sonnen not look like a complete beast or what? He absolutely dominated that fight in a way I didn’t think he could.

  • MMA-LOGIC says:

RESULT WAS FIXED!!!!!! I think an inquiry should be held into this. Rua hit more often, harder and did more damage was more aggressive(octagon control) and there were no take downs to cloud things, so what area did Machida win in?. It was FIXED! Too much money involved in a Randy vs Machida fight for the UFC to let Rua win…WHICH HE DID!.
    Rothwell was fine too.

  • MMA-LOGIC says:

Just thought I would add I was wrong about Valasquez, he looks the part and would be more than a hand full for any top HW.

  • king mah mah says:

FUCK THIS SHIT!!!! Shogun put on a beautiful performance, but was still robbed! I really don’t know what to say besides that. If you think Machida won, then you are retarded! Simple as that! Machida fans don’t have much to grasp onto here!

  • Makington says:

I was already a believer of Velasquez, but I don’t like his chances against Lesnar, or possibly Carwin. I just don’t think he would be able to toss them around with the ease he does everyone else. I would be pulling for him and I hope he gets the shot but I don’t know if he has the strength to control them everywhere.

  • js says:

I think everyone is taking this too lightly. Shogun was robbed fans were robbed people who put money on him were robbed literally. I think this is a legal matter and I think that there is something that can be done about it. I don’t figure UFC fans for boy-cotters – but are there any people with legal backgrounds that have an idea about how to take action on this matter. There might be worse travesties in the world, but I personally can’t let this rest. The UFC means too much to me.

  • js says:

Listen – Everybody who saw the fight, including the three judges, knows that Shogun won the fight. I think the way to rectify this situation would be for UFC president Dana White to publicly and explicitly denounce the credibility (or at least the competency) of all three judges and also pay Shogun out of his own pocket the prize money he should have won! I think if enough people write letters and call to pressure Dana White into doing that he might. And he might also take steps to change the judges -whatever steps those might be – he’s the president and it’s his business thats being soiled and it’s he who should fix it – if not the CSAC.

  • madheartmma says:

Mazzagatti SUCKS !!! This ISN’T the first time he’s f~cked up either, Dana White evens voices his opinion (surprise, surprise) on his dislike for Mazzagatti, SOMEONE SHOULD START A “MAZZAGATTI SHOULD ‘NT REF ANYBODY.COM” site. For real tho. Granted Cain was ALL over Ben Rothwell, but these guys are pro, THEY GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE FOR A LIVING ! Rothwell WAS STANDING UP ! UNDER HIS OWN POWER, those punches might really hurt you and me (not so much me..just kidding) but he was still in the process of cage walking up to his feet. He wasnt getting smashed like Mir vs. Lesnar smashed. NOW, Mazzagatii takes away someones ten year in the making debut. EVEN CAIN SAID IT SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN STOPPED SO SOON. AND WE ALL KNOW ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN A FIGHT, (even tho, Rothwell probably still would of lost.)You can gain alot of respect for a fighter even when he loses ( jason “MAYHEM” miller vs. GSP). BESIDES ALL THAT CAIN IS A BEAST !! I THINK HE’S ABOUT 2-3 FIGHTS AWAY FROM A TITLE SHOT, NOT THAT HE DOESNT DESERVE ONE NOW, HE DOES 4 SURE, BUT JUST TO GET A LITTLE MORE PRIMED, and hit the weights a little more, Lesnar and Carwin ARE STRONG M.F-ers. so..who’s gonna start the MAZZAGATTI SHOULD ‘NT REF ANYBODY.COM ?

I think that whole “fixed” idea, isnt a bad argument. EVERY PRO SPORT HAS HAD SOME KIND OF FIXED, THROWN, DROPPED etc. thing happen to it. It just makes you wonder if / when it will happen here. I have only watched the fight once, BUT I HAD RUA WINNING W/ OUT A DOUBT. Ther is ALOT OF MONEY INVOLVED IN THIS FIGHT, AND IT WOULD BE EASIER TO FIX THAN FOOTBALL, BASKET & BASEBALL. BUT…THE CHANCES OF THIS ONE ARE…UM.. I dont know, Machida was a 4 – 1 favorite, MMa-Logic has a point.

  • Makington says:

It’s hard to read your post madheart with all those caps lol. I can only picture it sounding like the guy from powerthirst. youtube it if you don’t get the reference.

  • Tcan says:

I dont think the fight was fixed in the traditional sense (like coleman v takada). However I do think that it was not on the up and up. What is the end game? i dont know. Why? again I dont know. But with the UFC structered the way it is there is no accountability. I love this sport and it bothers me to see it head down the path of entertainment rather than sport. Its worried me for awhile, with the staged trash talk, the television show, and Danas schorched earth business policy. Ive always feared that a fix of some sort was not a matter of if but when. im not a Machida hater im a huge fan he was the back end of a 4 fight parlay(yes im keeping the cash). ill say it again i dont think it was a blatant fix, but somethings up. i would love to hear the justification on the scoring.

  • js says:

The UFC is now corrupted. It’s no longer safe to bet money on it’s fights. And I’ll be prepared to be sickend everytime the raise a losers hand. I’m stunned it happened before my eyes. And I’m also a member of the Mazzagatti GO HOME committee!!!!!!! Anthony [email protected]#[email protected]
