Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley set for UFC 108

The Natural Born KillerA welterweight showdown between Carlos Condit and Paul Daley has been set for UFC 108.

Both men have verbally agreed to the match-up according to a recent report at Fighters Only citing a source close to the bout.

UFC 108 is scheduled for January 2 from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Condit will be looking to make it two in a row in the UFC following a back and forth war with Jake Ellenberger, while Daley will be aiming to improve upon his recent stoppage of Martin Kampmann.

The winner of the bout will undoubtedly be pushed that much closer to a future title shot at 170 pounds in the UFC.

If Cindit shows up with defense as sloppy as it was in his last fight he will not be able to rely on the judges and ref giving him a gift with the win, Daley will ko Condit in round 1.

  • Rich S. says:

I didn’t see this one coming..

I don’t really want to see either of these guys lose, but I’m a bigger fan of Daley..

After all those bombs Carlos survived in his last bout I have to pick him via decision or maybe submission.. Then again, he STILL seems to be settling in and getting used to the UFC, where as Daley just rushed in, wasn’t nervous at all, and knocked out a no.2 contender..

  • moosebaby02 says:

im with Rich on this. love them both.
    got to go with Daley

  • xtreme_machine says:

Great fight and just like Rich i do not want to see either of these guys lose

But because Condit ha not been him since coming to the UFC i say

    Daley 2nd TKO

and id he wins then he should get the next shot at GSP

  • Angry Mike says:

Great match-up. Daley has more power, so he gets the edge in stand up. Condit’s bjj is much better than Daley’s, so Condit has the edge on the ground. If Condit keeps it standing, he’s fighting uphill. If he’s smart and takes Daley down, he should win.

  • Bullylover says:

Condit is getting no favors since he entered the ufc.while condit is the more complete fighter IMO his night will end with him face up on the canvas he fights like he did last time. Lately he’s been letting himself get caught in firefights and All it takes is one hard one from daley if this happens.

  • hindsightufuk says:

yep great fight, Paul is my boy so i gotta back him, but it looks like a great fight

  • Condit better be smarter than Kampmann and try to take this to the ground. Otherwise, I see another KO on Daley’s resume and one win closer to a title shot…

  • edub says:

Condit is just insane. The shots he took against Ellenberger and Miura wouldve probably put any one else out. In saying that his defense is starting to look more suspect with each fight. He gets hit hard and often.Still…

    Condit by sub.

  • nope says:

    +1 on Edub

Condit with a quick, dry choke early in the 1st.

  • redness says:

Great match up I am totally siked. Carlos wins by Sub in the 3rd. Hoping he comes in with some good game planning now that he is with jacksons..

  • BigDave says:

This will be a good one for sure. Dailey is good but not on Condits level as far as being a well rounded fighter. Condit can take one hell of a shot and i’m sure he will take a few in this one as well but in the end I see him getting Dailey down and getting the submission.

  • submit662266 says:

Only a little disrespect when I ask about a “quick, dry choke” ? As opposed to a slow soggy choke? hmmm???

Great match-up. Condit will take him down, take an arm, and take him out. I loved Daley in his last fight, but I do remember some discussion about his lack of ground game.

  • dpk says:

I think most people have this figured out. If Condit can get it to the ground, it is a submission win for him. If he can’t get it to the ground, then this is going to look like the Kampmann fight, and not last too long. The winner could be one fight away from a title shot.

  • Jstew3785 says:

Condit gets hit too much. Daley by KO in the first
