Fighter Bonuses Announced for UFC 103

For Rick “The Horror” Story, this past Saturday night turned out to be more like a fairy tale come true than anything penned by Stephen King thanks to an additional six-figure payout he received beyond his regular contracted salary.

Story was awarded both “Submission of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” in lieu of his performance against Brian Foster at UFC 103. Each honor netted him $65,000. Vitor Belfort also pocketed an extra sixty-five thousand dollars for “Knockout of the Night” based on his first-round TKO victory over former UFC Champion Rich Franklin.

The summarized list of UFC 103 bonuses is as follows:

Fight of the Night – Rick Story vs. Brian Foster

Submission of the Night – Rick Story (Arm-Triangle Choke)

Knockout of the Night – Vitor Belfort

Fight of the Night – Tyson Griffin vs Hermes Franca

when Hermes had Tyson’s leg and they were still swinging MAN THAT WAS AWESOME!

  • danw84 says:

That fight was brutally boring until they finally started fighting.

  • hindsightufuk says:

i thought efrain shoulda got ko of the night. i always thought you had to knock someone ‘out’ to get ko of the night. apparently being badly dazed is bad enough

  • Bullylover says:

i’m with you hindsight ,efrain should of definately got the KO of the night bonus but it was Vitor’s return to the ufc so what else do you expect.

  • mu_shin says:

Just watched both fights, and while Escudero did a great job getting to Cole MIller and scored a strong knockout, have to go with Belfort over Franklin, as former champion Rich Franklin was a much stronger challenger and ended up on his face…

  • Angry Mike says:

Oliveira v. Lentz would have been my choice for fight of the night rather than Story v. Foster because Oliveira and Lentz went the distance.
