UFC Fight Night 19 Participants Avoid Lengthy Medical Suspensions

ufc fight night 19While UFC Fight Night 19 may have been filled with three-round battles and jaw-dropping action, it appears as though all of the card’s participants escaped Oklahoma City without major injury.

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has announced its list of medical suspensions resulting from the event. C.B. Dollaway and Nate Diaz, who were both successful in their Octagon appearances, received 30-day mandates for facial cuts. Similarly, Justin Buchholz has been asked to sit on the sidelines for 30-days due to a gash over his left eye which had previously resulted in a doctor stopping his fight against Jeremy Stephens.

One name fans may have expected to see on the list of medical suspensions was Roger Huerta due to the extremely painful-looking kimura opponent Gray Maynard secured in the third round of their bout. However, based on his absence from the athletic commission’s report, it seems Huerta’s shoulder may not actually be as shredded as viewers might have originally suspected.

  • Bullylover says:

great to see that nobody was will have to sit out for a long time.

  • Lord Faust says:

When Huerta was in that kimura, I think that was the only time in my history of watching MMA that I actually had to look away. The only other time was when Keith Hackney went to town punching Joe San’s nuts. I hope Huerta didn’t do himself any permanent damage; he could tapped in that hold and wouldn’t have lost any tough-guy points IMHO. Just nasty looking.
