Daniel Cormier close to signing eight-fight deal with Strikeforce

Daniel CormierFormer Olympic superstar wrestler and freak athlete Daniel Cormier is reportedly close to signing and eight-fight deal with Strikeforce that would kick his fighting career off with a bang.

FiveOuncesOfPain.com recently learned of the possible agreement through sources close to the situation. However, when 5 Oz’s contacted parties close to Cormier’s management they could neither deny or confirm the report.

The news of Cormier’s possible signing to Strikeforce was first reported by MMAFanhouse.com, where it was further¬†stated that Cormier would be making his mixed martial arts debut during the Strikeforce Challengers card set for September 25 against an opponent yet to be named.

Training out of the highly respected American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California alongside fighters such as Cain Velasquez, Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch, Cormier will make his presence felt immediately in the Strikeforce heavyweight division.

    with that much raw talent and training with guys like Velasquez, Koscheck and Fitch

    this guy could really be something special, i think we will hear more from him in the future

    Really interested to see what happens. I assumed he was already signed though. I am sure they will.

  • AKA is creating a pipeline for great wrestlers to head to San Jose and become MMA fighters. Them and AZCombat Sports are really racking up some awesome wrestlers. Great programs they all have going on.
