UFC Trading Cards will hit shelves on September 16

Topps UFC CardsMMA memorabilia collectors will have to wait just a few more weeks to purchase their very own, UFC collectible trading cards.

Topps Company partnered up with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has been given exclusive rights to produce UFC trading cards, and although scheduled to be released earlier this year, the official release is now being pushed back until September 21st.

Due to the push-out date, it has now given Topps the ability to include all 16 competitors from the highly anticipated The Ultimate Fighter reality series. These newly added fighters include autographed cards from, Kimbo Slice, Roy Nelson, Marcus Jones, Justin Wren, Wes Sims, and more.

Season 10 of the hit TV show, strictly featuring competitors in the heavyweight division, is being coached by Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and “Sugar” Rashad Evans, and set to premier September 16th.

Is the UFC/MMA demographic really gonna go for this? The audience is mostly 18-30 year olds. Collecting trading cards is generally for the 8-15 demo. I don’t see these picking up. Waste of paper, if you ask me (which you didn’t, but I don’t care).

I am really wondering if anyone is going to buy these. Anyone read the SI article about the trading card industry this week? It is pretty much dead. My guess is that Topps paid UFC a good fee to license their product and fighters. Probably little downside for UFC. Hopefully the fighters will see some of this money.

i would totally buy at least one pack just to check them out. it would be interesting to see if they put all the fighter stats on the back.

who takes the victory at UFC 107 Rampage or Rashad?

I think Rampage wins via decision
