“Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” bested out previous Showtime/Strikeforce ventures such as “Shamrock vs. Diaz”, “Lawler vs. Shields”, and “Shamrock vs. Le” in the ratings department.

Showtime is set to re-air the broadcast tomorrow evening (Wednesday, August 19). The entire event is also available on Showtime On Demand from right now through September 14.

I would guess a CBS event is in the not too distant future.

Representatives from CBS were in attendance for this event. They must have been happy with what they saw, and happy with the ratings here.

It is certainly an upgrade from the Kimbo Slice show they were broadcasting on CBS last year.

I think if CARANO vs CYBORG was on CBS it would have beaten the SPIKE UFC 100 replay ratings.
If FEDOR is not featured on the CBS show I would be SHOCKED.

As strange as it may seem to long-time MMA fans, Carano may be more appealing to CBS due to her marketability–attractive, etc. No offense to Fedor, but he ain’t Brad Pitt, and network brass care about that sort of stuff as much as fighting ability, and possibly more.
