Dave “Pee Wee” Herman to make return at “Shark Fights 4” on September 12

dave-hermanWith the recent announcement of Bellator Fighting Championships pushing their second season back to January of 2010, Bellator contracted heavyweight Dave “Pee Wee” Herman has decided to take a fight outside of the promotion to help pay the bills until then.

FiveOuncesOfPain.com has recently learned from sources close to the Indiana based knockout artist that he will be competing on September 12 at “Shark Fights 4” from Amarillo, Texas. His opponent has yet to be named.

Herman is a massive and rangy heavyweight that stands at 6’5″, and weighs in around the 240 pound mark. He has put together an impressive record of 14-1 during his professional career, with 11 of his victories coming by way of knockout.

Herman’s last trip to the cage saw him stop Josh Barnes by TKO in the first round at Bellator 5 in May of 2009.

That loss definitely showed some glaring holes in his game. Hopefully he can take the next step to being a complete fighter, but i don’t know, going to hold off judgement until i see him against some more good competition.

Good luck to the guy though. He’s pretty entertaining.

In his loss, he just gassed in a bad way. Now that he is taking his training more seriously, he should be fine. I expect to see him in UFC or Strikeforce early next year.

Still… that was his first real step up and he showed a major flaw… i still like the guys fighting style, just want to hold off until he’s fought another decent opponent. :)

You’re right dpk Herman was beating Choi Mu Bae rather handily until he gassed.

He should easily win his fight here at Shark Fights because having watched a couple shows they’ve put on before they were entertaining, but not exactly filled with top talent. I’d bet he won’t be facing a stellar opponent.

Anyway afterwards Strikeforce should be right on the phone calling him up to add to there Heavyweights because they definitely need more depth in that division, and Herman would be a nice addition.
