Foupa-Pokam earned a spot in the UFC’s middleweight division after compiling a 20-9 record with and a seven fight win streak. He made his Octagon debut in Montreal this past April at UFC 97, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Denis Kang.

The Paris native then stepped up on short notice just last weekend at UFC 98 to face Miletich Fighting Systems product Drew McFedries. Unfortunately, Foupa-Pokam suffered a TKO due to punches just 37 seconds into the bout.

whack, he’s got so much talent too

  • GetItOn says:

Watch, they’ll call on him when they need someone because another fighter is out due to injury.

  • JJ Docker says:

Yeah they weren’t the best two fights for him really. Against a talented Kang and a striker with waaaay more power than him. He’ll be back.

  • fanoftna33 says:

He seems like a good fighter but we saw so little of him. Hopefully like Cro Cop he works his way back with adjustments. he looked like a very athletic striker.

  • Jstew3785 says:

He’ll never be middleweight champion or anything, but he was a talented fighter that got a raw deal. I mean, he did the UFC a favor by stepping in on such short notice. They should have cut him some slack. Give him some time to prepare for an opponent and then if he loses, cut him loose.
