Team USA East takes on Team Finland when M-1 Challenge returns to Kansas City on June 5

Headlining the fifth installation of the always entertaining “M-1 Challenge Presented by Affliction” series slated to go down on June 5 will be Team USA East when they face off with Team Finland. Both teams hold perfect records of 1-0 during this years Challenge.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.

Also slated for action in Kansas City are match-ups featuring Team England vs. Team France and Team Turkey vs. the World Team.

This will be M-1’s first return to Kansas City in just under a year with the first event gong down as quite a success.

“We packed the Voodoo Lounge this past October, proving that Kansas City is a rising market for MMA,” M-1 Global live events president Joe Kelly was quoted as saying in a press release issued by M-1 Global this afternoon. “It truly was one of the most-attended events in M-1 history. But now with the lure of a total of fifteen M-1 Challenge fights, we felt we needed to book an even larger venue. Tickets sales have been very strong and we’re looking forward to another big show.

Also scheduled to make an appearance at the event is former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi, who will be acting as the coach for the World Team.

“In addition to USA East vs. Finland and a rare chance to see former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi in person, we’re going to have a total of 15 challenge fights consisting of 30 fights from six different countries going head-to-head,” confirmed Kelly. “We’re going to be offering fight fans a chance to see at least 15 professional fights with some of the best fighters on the planet for a price as low as $25 per ticket.”

Miller needs to keep it standing. It would be a really bad idea to take this one to the ground.
