Affliction VP Tom Atencio looking to remain undefeated in MMA career on June 27

Forty two year old Vice President of Affliction Tom Atencio expects to make his return to the cage on June 27.

His opponent has yet to be announced and the fight will take place as part of the undercard to a Bob Sapp vs. Bobby Lashley main event at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. The name of the promotion has also yet to be announced but it’s expected to be the first event from a new organization.

There are quite a few people that don’t realize that the Affliction VP made his mixed martial arts debut back in January of 2005 when he scored a decision victory over David Martinez at Total Combat 7. Atencio has yet to taste defeat in the cage.

It’s refreshing to see someone like Atencio put it all on the line for nothing more than his love for the sport and hunger for competition. At forty two years of age and more money in the bank than most of us could ever dream of, Atencio has officially earned my respect.

The PPV numbers would likely be jaw dropping if we could some day arrange a catch-weight bout between Atencio and Dana White

Wouldn’t it be cool if he wore a shirt from a company other than Affliction as he walked in and then banned himself like Matt Lindland was from UFC? He could make the announcement with his best Dana White impersonation with multiple f-bombs. I smell the next viral you-tube video.

it would be great if dana and tom went at it in the cage and they should do who ever lose has to leave mma forever

  • Austin says:

Does anyone need to make the obvious fagbash jokes?

  • ctownhood says:

I know everyone hates Dana White (I’m not one of those people)..but let’s be honest……Dana would smash Xerxes of Persia in a heartbeat
