Mac Danzig vs. Jim Miller added to UFC 100

A lightweight showdown between two fighters on the rebound is expected for UFC 100. Mac Danzig will face off with Jim Miller at the event which takes place on July 11th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The bout was previously confirmed to by sources close to the fight.

Both men will be looking to bounce back from recent defeats in the octagon in a match-up where the loser could very likely be sent on a short vacation from the UFC.

Danzig put together two victories in the UFC after being crowned the winner of the sixth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but has fallen short in his last two trips to the cage against Clay Guida, and most recently Josh Neer in February. The twenty nine year old Xtreme Couture fighter finds his back against the wall at UFC 100 as a third consecutive loss would make his future in the UFC extremely questionable.

Miller has gone 2-1 since he joined the UFC in the latter portion of 2008 with wins over David Baron and Matt Wiman before falling short in his third trip to the octagon against the highly rated Gray Maynard. Miller’s only other loss in his fifteen fight career came at the hands of Frankie Edgar in November of 2006.

Wow a short trip from the Ufc huh. I don’t see how that is possible for Miller not really for Danzig either though. He was doing good against Guida(who’s been on a roll) at first before he gassed. Either way this is possible fight of the night material. 2 guys that can bang it out and have solid juijitsui. It really all lands on who has the better wrestling. From what i’ve seen they both have problems with really good wrestlers. Thank god neither one of them is.

Win or lose, Miller will stay put for at least one more fight after this showdown.

I think that Mac’s future is in jepordy more than Jim.even if Mac wins this fight I think that Miller will be back for another fight.if Danzig loses he should consider a drop down to 145.

Mac is on his way to the WEC after this loss to Jim Miller. The UFC has to trim down their lightweight fighter roster, I’d expect many more matchups like this to come. 50 something Lightweights is far too many, which is fine since the WEC needs an injection of talent. It will become a spot where these guys can grow and then come back up to the UFC if any of them turn out to be contenders.
