Undefeated featherweight, John Franchi, will face off with Manny Gamburyan at WEC 41.
Sources close to Franchi have confirmed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com that the bout has just been officially inked.
Franchi has finished four of his five bouts on his own terms, two by submission, and two by knockout. His most recent appearance saw him edge out Mike Budnik in a hard fought split decision at WEC 39, which marked Franchi’s debut with WEC.
Gamburyan will be looking to make the move down to featherweight and the his WEC debut all at once. The lightweight runner up for The Ultimate Fighter season five went 2-2 after the shows finale, but lost his most recent two bouts in the octagon.
Urijah Faber is expected to meet Mike Brown in a featherweight championship rematch in the night’s main event.
