Earlier this week FiveOuncesOfPain.com reported that former New York Giants offensive lineman Bobby Jones is planning to try out for the upcoming tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter.
The site has now learned that former NFL defensive lineman Matt Mitrione attends to try out for the show as well.
A three-year veteran of the league, the 30-year old Mitrione began his NFL career in 2002 after graduating from Purdue University.
Standing 6’4” and weighing 300 pounds during his three-year career, Mitrione primarily served as a backup defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings.
Spike TV and the UFC have scheduled an open casting call for the tenth season of TUF for Monday, April 6 in Seattle, Washington at the Marriott Hotel located at the Seattle/Tacoma International Airport.
The tenth season of TUF will be casting mixed martial artists in the middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions. It should be noted that a press released issued by Spike lists the heavyweight cutoff at 225 pounds.
