Ken Shamrock Tests Positive for Multiple Anabolic Agents

The California State Athletic Commission has released information to stating that mixed martial arts icon Ken Shamrock is currently facing suspension in light of testing positive for three performance enhancing drugs: 19-Norandrosterone, 19-Noretiocholanolone, and Stanozolol.

If upheld, the suspension will run until February 2010. He has also been fined $2,500. Mr. Shamrock also reserves the right to appeal the CSAC’s findings if he chooses to do so.

Shamrock last competed for the WarGods promotion on February 13th in Fresno, CA where he defeated Ross Clifton via submission in the first round.

Shamrock is also currently scheduled to co-headline a pay-per-view on March 21 in a bout against former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley. The hybrid boxing/MMA event, titled “March Badness,” will be promoted by Roy Jones Jr.’s Square Ring Promotions and is also scheduled to feautre Jones competing in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida in what is believed to be his final fight. However, the status of the Shamrock vs. Lashley match is now in question in light of Shamrock’s resent drug test failure.

Sucks for Ken , and sad at the same time … Sad that he needed all those roids for a fighter of Ross’s ability and frame ..

he prolly needs roids for lots of things then , like unzipping his fly , opening a beer or walking too the mailbox too check for mail.

Hope he never comes back , he should preserve what he has left of his legacy which is very little , have you seen how much respect Hoyce Gracie gets now after he cheated?

  • cere says:

Not exactly a surprise. Seriously Ken, time to hang it up.

Wonder if he will even have his job commentating for StrikeForce after this.

  • buzzcramp says:

wow, there’s a shocker… Ken Shamrock’s on steroids!? Never ever would have guessed.

  • TerribleT says:

When is Ken going to stop tarnishing what’s left of his legacy? It was bad enough that he hadn’t won a fight for what…….maybe 7yrs? and when he finally did win it was against some homeless dude they pulled out of a mid-day soup line but now we hear that he wasn’t even legit in beating this ham-n-egger! When and where will it all end Ken?I suppose he’ll be fighting again next February when the suspension is lifted unless he heads for Japan to fight like Antonio Silva did when he tested positive for roids. What a damn shame!!!!!! :-(

  • MMASwami says:

    Holy shit what a shocker!!!

  • GetItOn says:

When are these guys going to get it through their heads that they are going to get tested. You have to be a complete moron if you think that you can beat the system when it comes to steroids. Ken Shamrock = Moron. Way to go Ken! Idiot

  • JJ Docker says:

Shamrock built his career around serious steroid intake. It’s horrible to throw such accusations at fighters when obviously it cannot be verified with concrete evidence but in Shamrocks case, I think it’s pretty obvious. He was doing it then and he is doing it now. He’s a deluded but average to decent fighter when he’s roiding and he’s weak shell of a poor fighter when he’s not (i.e. before Kimbo fight). Retire, Ken, please.

  • jasonah says:

maybe Frank is right. that Kens head is fryed from doing roids all these years. He is out of it does he understand what he ‘s doing anymore? He’s been K.O.ed so many times now his chin is like, tin foil! he can not even win a fight against a nobody any more.Pepole used to talk about Chuck fighting pepole under Bridges,For money After his Carrer is over in M.M.A. I see Ken Doing this before Chuck Liddell.Ken has made his legacy Shit.Sure in the beginings Fighters did not get paid nothing. But he has made his Millions that’s for sure.Hopefully after this suspension “the worlds most dangerous man” Gives up fighting @ the ripe old age of 45 or 46 or something like that. With the Reputation he has,He’s Damaging the sport now.And I agree with Frank that he did cut him self.Because Kimbo would have rolled him.

  • cere says:

hmmm…maybe not related to the failed test, but it does look like Ken has lost his StrikeForce gig doing commentary. Very possible they were going to ditch him anyway, but I am sure this just made it an easier decision to go with Frank.

  • perfecto says:

F..K it let them take roids.
