  • Jordan says:

yea…….not really looking foward to watchin sherk hold edgar sown on the ground for 15 minutes

  • Brendhan Conlan says:

Don’t forget to bring your wet blankets!

  • Jason G says:

I don’t think Sherk will lay n pray. He didn’t do it to Tyson Griffin and I don’t thing Edgar’s hands are as good so even though I think Sherk wins the UD it could be a TKO.

  • john says:

i agree with jason i think sean will stay active hit some big slams and work on his striking im a hugee sherk fan so im glad he now has another fight but i also wanted sean to be placed against rodger huerta. Send that pretty boy off to modeling school with a ass whoopen

  • KingTCB says:

Only a bigger fighter like Grey could really stop Edgar right now. Sherk is def a big boy but i think Edgars wrestling may be a little better at this point. They both had WARS with Griffin and both came out on top. Expect this fight to be FOTN. UD for edgar

  • dpk says:

Edgars has good enough wrestling to keep Sherk from Lay and Pray. Sherk’s stand up looked pretty good against Griffin, so I think he will keep the fight standing. This will probably determine the next top contender after KenFlo. I actually surprised at this fight being announced, I thought UFC would hold Sherk back, for a potential fight with KenFlo for an interm belt if BJ beats St. Pierre and decides to fight at WW.

  • KTru says:

    29-28 sherk, 29-28 sherk, 30-27 edgar

  • Joey says:

Lay and Pray? Really? Do you study blogs all day to try gain some knowledge on MMA or do you actually pay attention and have an opinion of your own. Have you seen Sherks last two fights? They were stand up slugfests.

  • Mike Wolfe says:

Imo, Sherk has better striking and I expect him to try and keep it standing. And I think he wins by ko or tko.

  • portland mma says:

Joey, i would agree in his last 2 fights he was in a slug fest and he looked great against Tyson, but c’mon you can’t give Sherk credit for eating leather all night from BJ Penn’s jab. To tell you the truth i’ve seen alot of Edgar’s fights but never really seen anything out of his stand up, so i’m going to have to go with Sherk. Edgar is a sick wrestler but that is about it, plus i hate him for beating the spencer fisher who by the way is the coolest guy ever in mma….sorry its just true.

  • Golion says:

What happend to Sherk Vs Hureta?

  • JBAR says:

If BJ wins the winner of this fight would probably fight Kenflo for the interim title. If BJ loses then the winner of this fight could fight the winner of BJ and Kenflo while the loser could fight Huerta.

  • brian says:

sherks standup has always been pretty good just look at any of his older fight he was just at a large reach disadvantage, now with somebody close to his heigt he can show his hands, but edgar has some really good strikes also so i see this fight going either way, although everytime we hear sherk talk he says he olny wants to fight guys who will up his rankings and he is taking on the top of the 155 weight class, win or lose its good to see a guy who loses a fight and doesnt get a can(ie deigo sanchez vs biekelhadden). I would still like to see edgar drop to 145 and fight for the wec title i think he would destroy thatweight class.

  • CubanLinx says:

    this should be a war

  • DamonO says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Huerta fights the loser of Stevenson vs Sanchez.

  • ctownhood says:

    Huerta has left the UFC

  • the Levi says:

Shek vs Edgar is gonna be awesome. I expect the Muscle Shark to win this fight.his stand up striking has looked good inhis last 2 fights.I think that he will be able to out strike the Answer.

  • JBAR says:

ctownhood, thanks for the info, I was not aware of that. He signed a 5 fight deal in December so is he just taking time off to do the movie thing or is he saying he is done for good?

  • jon says:

huerta is taking time off to do some acting. he is going to be in a tekken movie. he should be back in the ufc. if penn beats gsp, he will drop back down and fight florian then go back to 170 to fight alves. now as for this fight, sherk should wipe the floor with edgar. edgar has never shown a good stand up prowess and sherk’s striking looked quite good against griffin so i think sherk out boxes him and wins a UD

  • Bullylover says:

Interesting matchup. 2 all americans set to do battle. Sherk has the better hands, more experience,& overall a more complete fighter. Edgar has more power in his hands & his pure wrestling might be even better than Sherk’s. However sherk has fought guys that were better wrestlers than him and didn’t do bad. Edgar has shown that he gets frustrated when he is getting outmuscled(maynard fight). If sherk can get the better of the striking & land accurate 1-2 combo’s followed by the takedown sherk has a good chance of winning a UD or even a tko or Sub. Saying that Edgar doesn’t really deserve a title shot yet even if he wins sherk.

  • kingtcb says:

Edgars stand up is pretty pretty solid . He keeps his hands high and is def not afraid to get in and bang. I honestly don’t know how you can say sherks stand up looked good in his last 2 fights he got handled vs bj on his feet. He did look good against Tyson but so did Edgar. Both also have great cardio this will for sure be a 3 round WAR

  • Johnny says:

Frankie Edgar is a much different fighter than he was when he fought Grey, at that time he was just a wrestler. Sherk hasnt dominated anyone since Hermes Franca 2 years ago, and as incredibly strong as he is, he is so predictable. Frankie has been working BJJ with Ricardo Almeida and has greatly improved his striking. Tyson Griffin had Sherk’s number in their last fight, it was shame that he lost. Expect Frankie to take it to Sherk and put him into retirement.
