Diego Sanchez and Joe Stevenson to fight at main event of UFC 95

Two former winners from the The Ultimate Fighter are set to square off. UFC President Dana White confirmed the top fight for the February 21 show during while being interviewed by and

“The London main event is Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson,” said White.

The interesting part about this match is that it will be Sanchez’s lightweight debut. After winning TUF at middleweight, Sanchez fought in the UFC at the welterweight limit. Now, Sanchez drops down another weight class to meet Stevenson. Stevenson also won TUF at a different weight class – welterweight, but he has recently fought at lightweight in the UFC.

This card needs Lesner vs Mir 2 to sell

  • Jeff L says:

155 is my absolute favorite division, but this is in no way a main event.

  • Nir says:

this has got to be a spike card. i think it’s a better main event than bisping-liben

  • john says:

this isnt the main event i hope, dont get me wrong i lover to watch both diego and joe fight but it needs some help to sell unless it can be a free card

  • Liam says:

Yet again the UK gets screwed with poor main events. Diego vs Stevenson is a good fight but is no way a ME. We consistently sell out huge venues over here, let’s have some real headliners.

yea they gotta do something special with this card or im not payin for it…maybe we see chuck return, jardine…gotta add some names

  • Mike Wolfe says:

Interesting match up and worth watching, but not enough to make me fork over $45.00. UFC will have to show it for free on Spike or sweeten the deal in a big way.

  • Ervine383 says:

Not a main event caliber fight, but can someone say “NASTY TIME” anyways. This will be a kick ass fight. I’m looking for Diego to debut in devastating fashion………sorry Joe.

Let me get this straight…it seems Sean Sherk is being thrown to the dogs. No rematch with the so called #1 contender florian, and no worthy 155 ibs left to fight. Why does the UFC give Stevenson a high profile main event opportunity when he gets destroyed and dominated by two high caliber lightweights. I watch Florian on tv and he claims to not want to fight Sherk until BJ. I talked to Sherk about a week ago and he throught he was getting the fight against Diego or Florian.
