5 Oz. Video: Anthony Johnson talks Cung Le, feelings about Kevin Burns, and more was afforded the opportunity to speak with UFC welterweight prospect Anthony Johnson soon after his knockout victory over Kevin Burns during the live finale for the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The stunning high kick delivered to Burns not only improved Johnson’s record to 6-2, but it earned him a $25,000 bonus for “Knockout of the Night.”

You can watch the interview below to get Johnson’s thoughts on working with Cung Le; his feelings towards Burns and the infamous eye poke; how his conversation with referee Steve Mazzagatti went that ensued the week after the original eye poke incident; Johnson’s goals for 2009; and more.

  • Justin Van Hook says:

    that’s one classy dude

  • VENOM says:

This guy is a Real class-act. I really enjoy fighters that can kick major ass and still be humble and appreciative afterwords.
Steve Cantwell should take a lesson from Anthony.

  • William W. says:

Totally badass fighter in and out of the cage. Tons of respect for Anthony Johnson.

  • CubanLinx says:

@Venom: Steve Cantwell is a young guy, just 22, and was very excited to win his first fight on the big stage. cut him some slack. if you followed his career in WEC you would see hes a very respectable guy.

  • djohn says:

@CubanLinx: Anthony Johnson is a young guy, just 24, and wasnt disrespectful at all after he got screwed out of a previous fight.

  • BigDave says:

Ok ill get my Steve Cantwell comment out of the way first. The moron he fought didnt tap and got what he deserved Cantwell should be feeling good about poppin the dudes arm out cause hey it was part of the fight the ref didnt stop it the guy didnt tap. Good for you Steve, best of luck.

Now ill admit i never seen much of Anthony Johnson before the fight with the eyepoke that was badly called by Maz, but shit happens. This second fight was a great fight to watch and the headkick was one of the better ive seen in recent memory. But the thing im impressed with most is this guys true respect he has for the sport and the guys that he fights. It is so infrequent in this day in age to see a guy that actually seems genuine when he talks. Best of luck in the future Anthony and for sure you have a fan in me(Just dont lose,LOL).

  • Rich S. says:

    not only that,
but recently Cantwell apologized for what he said..
he said it was simply the adrenaline talking..
people should just forget about that..
worse things have been said by other people..

    Congratulations to 5 oz.
This site is really blowing up now, what with the CBS deal, the opening of the store, and a new youtube channel with video interviews..

    it’s only up from here..

  • THORAZINE says:

Yes, Steve Cantwell did apologize, so even he thought he was a dickhead! Anthony Rumble Johnson’ what a cool name and even cooler cat… class act, even after the 1st Kevin Burns fight he kept his composure, I hope this kid makes it to the top!

  • screwface says:

i gotta say, anthony johnson is exactly the type of fighter i love to root for. i love warriors with humility. i have seen all of his fights so far and have been impressed each time he steps in the octagon, always seems to improve with each fight. but having said this, i really want to see him fight some1 with a name and resume next. not trying to take away from any of his past opponents, but before i call myself a true fan of his i need to see him be tested against a proven veteran. but i like what i see.
go rumble, keep movin forward 😉

  • bDavid says:

bravo Rumble! very very classy, GSP , Anthony Johnson, Fitch ,Cung Le (Class Acts) these are the guys you want representing the sport, NOT N Diaz , Juni Browning (street thugs) ..

  • glock says:

koombaya, hugs all around…. we’re all on the same page with this one. AJ, what a package for UFC, smart, physically gifted, and improving a lot – and training outside of the box as well, with San Shou, can’t wait to see him fight again.
