Gossip website TMZ is reporting that Kim Couture, wife of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture, has been granted a temporary restraining order against Affliction general partner Todd Beard.
Affliction designs and manufactures a clothing line titled “Xtreme Couture” that is modeled after Couture’s brand. According to the report, the Coutures are claiming that “Beard has been on a campaign of terror against them since they asked for an accounting of profits.”
Additionally, Couture cites Beard’s alleged criminal past as reason to believe he poses a threat to her well-being.
“My fear of Mr. Beard is well-founded given his extensive criminal history,” the TMZ report quotes Couture’s declaration as saying. “Not only has he been convicted of numerous state and federal felonies relating to fraud …he has engaged in numerous acts of violence, including violence against women.”
As a part of the temporary restraining order, Beard will not be allowed to attend the weigh-ins for UFC 91 at the MGM Grand on Friday and will be prohibited from attending the event itself on Saturday, where Randy Couture is scheduled to defend his title in the night’s main event vs. Brock Lesnar.
