Round 5 MMA figures Series II: Wanderlei, Ace, Spider, and Sherk (pics)

Series II of Round 5 MMA collectible figures now has it’s fourth and final member: Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva.  Silva joins Sean Sherk, Rich Franklin, and Anderson Silva in the second series of these 6 inch collectibles. Series I is made up of MMA icons Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, and Quinton Jackson.

The detail and artistry of these figures is the design of famous McFarlane artist David Cortes.

Personally, I find it interesting that they have included logos of each fighters main sponsor on the lil’ shorts. You can clearly see the logos of American Fighter,, Toe2Toe, and Sinister. Depending on the cost for this sponsorship, that is an excellent way to associate your brand with the fighter and the sport of MMA in general.

You can purchase the Series I figures in stores such as Champs Sports, F.Y.E., KB Toys, and a host of other toy collectible websites.  Series II will become available this holiday season. first told you about these figures back in Oct 2007 and provided an update in June 2008.

uhhhh…..who would buy a Sherk action figure?

  • Stan the Caddy says:

“uhhhh…..who would buy a Sherk action figure?”

    Josh Thomson fans??

  • Sabotage says:

The Wanderlei patented wrist roll is classic!

Your Sean Sherk action figure comes fully with steroids and CSAC suspension notice letter.

No BJ Penn yet? No GSP yet? No Forrest Griffin yet? But they made a Sean Sherk?!?!? Who needs to be fired for their fighter choices on this one?

  • Squall says:

I agree, Sherk before GSP and BJ Penn? Maybe they didnt want action figure?

  • Jeff G. says:

I’m a bit surprised about the Sherk selection also. He was stripped of the title back in January, and prior to the Penn fight he was inactive for almost a year. I’m sure that production schedules have something to do with it but even still, he wasn’t exactly the most beloved fighter in the UFC prior to that.

I personally would rather have seen them choose more iconic fighters regardless of championship status with Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin along with the Silvas and then follow up those with BJ, GSP, Brock and Faber next year.

  • Sergio Hernandez says:

I’m sure it was more about who they could get to sign the contract more than who they actually wanted to make a figure of.

  • KTru says:

Too bad Tito doesnt have one. Seems to be the only “real-like” head-to-body ratio.

  • spiderfan says:

There is a Tito figure in seies 1. It comes with STD’s,hasn’t beat anyone worth crap in the last 5 years, and although it trained at BIG BEAR… it is winded by round 2

  • matthew says:

    lol @ KTru & spiderfan.

How did i know this article would bring out some humor? It asks for it. Nay, it begs for it.

  • Robert says:

spiderfan must think wins over Forrest Griffin,Vitor Belfort and Patrick Cote are fighters who ‘aren’t worth crap”,but he’s an example of a guy who tries to be funny and ends up sounding like a complete ass!

  • spiderfan says:

    sorry bobby,
I meant the last 3 years…. and if you think Tito really DESERVED the decision over Forrest, or even the Draw with Evans, then you probably actually believe Lesnar DESERVED a title shot too. His only true wins since Belfort, are over an aged Shamrock.

  • Robert says:

You’re right Spiderman Tito didn’t deserve the draw against Evans he should have won a decision but was penalized a point for grabbing the fence.Evans didn’t do shit till the last rd.It’s funny how you bring up the Forrest fight and not deserving the decision as I recall you and Eddie Bravo are the only ones who think Forrest deserved a decision. He got his ass handing to him in the first round of that fight and nothing he did the rest of the way deserved to take a decision.I have the feeling you’re a big Dana White fan and can’t wait for Chuck vs. Randy IV. As far as taking a shot at Lesnar for getting a title shot and not deserving that so what like things are fair in the UFC.I picture guys like you watching Lesnar take it to an “aged” Couture with tears in your eyes.
