  • Gyro says:

    DDAAAAAMMNNN! right on the button

  • Richard Stabone says:

Hooooly shite… that was BRUTAL. Almost unbelievable. Just… speechless. Which Rashad’s wife will be too for a few days too, as she tries to get that annoying-as-hell voice back.

So much for Chuck vs. Forrest. So what happens now on the New Year’s bash…?

  • Matt Cava says:

Chuck should stop taking fights against guys that train with Greg Jackson. :)

  • ktru says:

chuck who? loser 3 of 4. rashad will be next lw champion

  • Jeremy says:

Dana and Lorenzo just watched millions of dollars going up in smoke.

Rashad/Forrest does nowhere near the money that Forrest/Chuck makes.

That being said, I think that Forrest beats Rashad.

  • Wow, Rashad Evans pulled a Chuck Liddell.

    A couple notes:

    – Rashad better watch out or he can easily find himself being the next heel of the UFC, succeeding Tim Sylvia.

    – Unfortunately Chuck Liddell joins the ranks of the UFC legends who can no longer keep up with the current game. I gotta say that Chuck’s game has remained stale over not the past couple of fights, but years. He was simply looking to throw a right the whole entire fight. But when he did he was too slow.

-Rashad is probably, and should be right behind Rampage in getting a title shot. Because ‘Page won’t be getting his anytime soon, Rashad should fight Forrest for the December show. Heck they were going to give it to Chuck after going 1-2 in his last three fights.

-No he shouldn’t fight Wanderlei first. I understand the UFC has a star power hierarchy where fighters that have proven themselves in the UFC fight stars, but really this is starting to create a never ending circle that rarely gives the non-stars a chance to move up, because eventually they are going to lose. Forrest caught a break with that title shot.

  • pitbull17 says:

That was a sick knockout but Rashad is totally classless. Dancing and running. I was just building up anger at his showboating hoping he would get knocked out and then he drops a bomb on chuck. Just makes me hat Rashad so you think you can dance Evans even more.

  • Richard Stabone says:

Yeah, in the short-term the UFC just lost a big $$ PPV with Forrest/Chuck. But Chuck is old, and Rashad – though up till now I’ve continued to underestimate him – is young, undefeated, and after this fight very much in the limelight. I think it’d be shortsighted to say this result was bad for the UFC.

But this does open a huge door for Machida, or at least open it up sooner. This weight division just got a heck of a lot more interesting IMO.

  • john says:

it seems to me that noone realizes that in mma, on any given night you can get caught, which is exactly what happened tonight with rashad getting the one good shot that he landed right on the button. does that make him the better fighter, absolutely not. but he did win. chuck is still the better fighter but rashad landed his shot first. i am actually sorry to say it but i see chuck retiring after this one, because i just dont see him waiting 3-4 more fights before his next title shot. ladies and gentleman welcome to the new blood of the ufc. i hate to say it because i can absolutely not stand the showboating style of rashad evans. i really truly absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt stand this fucking guy rashad

  • Simon Cason says:

I dont know what to say. This fight should have never happened. Its complete bullshit Chuck spends the whole fight TRYING to engage and ShittyRashad does little to nothing but throws the most unexpected, undeserving punch of his career. I think its bullshit and Evans didnt deserve this win.

  • UFC created the Rashad Monster.

Seriously for the next couple of days I think a lot of us are going to be talking about Rashad Evans dancing more than his sick knock which does deserve some praise. But guess what, the UFC caused all of this. How? By telling fighters if you aren’t interesting then we don’t want you. Just think for a second, most fights are really not all that interesting except for the 10 seconds of exchanges, like this fight. Its all a business. Rashad makes the other 4 minutes and 50 seconds of a round interesting.

Really if he didn’t, then he would just be another Tim Sylvia or Arloskei (I don’t care about spelling), and he’ll get thrown out. There is no appreciation of fighting styles especially a slowed down countering one, so a guy needs to make up a persona. Such as: SUUGGGAAARRRRR

  • john says:

i still cant stand this [email protected]#$% guy, i hhhhhaaaaaattttttteeeeeee rashad evans

  • RJ says:

Rashad Evans is going down. Sure he beat Chuck, but he’s nothing but a classless fool. He’s going down his next fight.

  • ttt says:

i hope they don’t bring the UFC back to georgia for a long time
    a lot of terrible fans

  • MMAKansas says:

Nobody got “caught” this was a spoon fed ground guy for Chuck to set up the Griffin fight.

The UFC thought that Chuck would avoid the take down and use his reach to either KO or win via Una. Dec.

Problem is, Chuck didn’t get CAUGHT.. Chuck has lost the last 3 of his past 4 fights and 2 of those losses were knockouts.

Chuck is not young, he is not as dominant, and like Mike Tyson, his ‘invicibility” has been broken so fighters aren’t walking in mentally defeated anymore.

I don’t see Chuck winning the belt again, and there is NO justification for him to get a shot until he can put together 2 consecutive wins, which he hasn’t done in over a year.

  • RJ says:

What’s with Rashad’s faggot nipple pinching at the begining of the fight. fucking homo

  • -I’m going with 4 consecutive wins for a title fight from Chuck against mid to big time opponents.

    – Rashad is a better fighter, and showed it tonight. Rashad has more quickness in his punches, which allowed him to land the punch faster than Chuck could land his. Like the above commenter said, Chuck just got old.

  • Simon Cason says:

GSP kinda did the same thing before the Fitch fight.

  • Jeff Allen says:

well, props to rashad, dude is undefeated! I’m amazed a few folks still don’t like this guy and jump on his shit about his celebration. You’d be dancing and showboating too, if you just laid out Lidell. He’ll take Forrest too, if and when he gets his shot. Unlike chuck, he’ll be able to take down forrest. he’s got wicked hands and legs though . . he should use them more.

  • fatback says:

So let me get this right. A fighter comes in with a game plan that keeps him away from the other fighters strong points then wins with the one advantage that everyone said he had and everyone is upset? Sorry Sugar didn’t do his part and just throw his chin out there to get tagged by Chuck. I guess you have to expect to be called everything in the book when you take down the golden child. And what does this say about Genghis Jackson?

  • Forrest Gump says:

Rashad is a going to get beat. Forrest will win, Machida will destroy him, and Wanderlei or Shogun? He’s going to get KO’d. Oh… maybe he should fight Rampage with his slop. Rashad is just a homo, and we don’t want to see a homosexual champ.

  • Johnny Lawrence says:

Damn, not how i wanted it to go. But that’s fighting…

Evans had a punchers chance and looked like a Deer in headlights for the majority of the fight.

    But, he get’s the W…’

but damn Chuck…you got counter-punched and knocked out.

  • Mike A says:

why is everyone hating on Rashad because he was happy he won? Liddell would have ran around the ring with his arms spread if it was the other way around. Fuck

  • nate says:

Rashad Evans, the up an coming exciting UFC fighter! Only 50% wins by decision! Countless (2) of knockouts in his 17 fight winning streak. Hours of footage of him laying on top of fighters and resting! Known for his entertaining nipple playing (good for all those gay male MMA watchers), and running away. His most memorable match to date was vs the powerhouse Chuck Liddell, where he ran, danced, and pretty much chickened out until Chuck left himself open to a beautifully delivered knockout (I am serious for that part). Man I wish Chuck had evolved more.

Rashad is the new Tito. Boring boring boring lay lay lay, boring boring boring. Unfortunately he also added the #&$($# nipple playing. The only reason I watched was because the rest of the card was solid & he was fighting Chuck.

  • paddiosf says:

What is next for the LHW picture?

    Rampage vs Forrest
    Evans vs Forrest
Machida vs Evans and that winner takes on Forrest
    What happens to Liddell?
WHo fights does Wanderlei fight? Liddell again?
Shogun is there waiting in the wings?
DANA must nbe crying that his boy got KO and his dream
matchup of Student Vs Teacher isnt going to happen..

  • Davey D says:

Wow, I am still in awe. THAT WAS CRAZY, the best KO of the year by far! I thought this might happen and it did. I think that Evans vs. Griffin in December sounds good right about now. God, I love this sport. Unbelieveable!!!

  • chris jenkins says:

no matter what any of us die hards think. rashad and the jackson camp beat chuck at his own game. they baited him, made him press the fight, and caught him how he use to catch everybody else. i hate rashad evans just as much as the next man but his gameplan worked and the result was a brutal knockout.

  • Richard Stabone says:

    “Rashad is the new Tito.”

Maybe Rashad was just fortunate to fight Chuck later in his career. Otherwise that statement is just hilarious.

  • Mike A says:

Ya Rashad was a chicken for staying away from Chucks bombs… Liddells strategy of standing infront of him with his hand at his waist sure worked out well

  • Gyro says:

I’m not sure if they are really this many Rashad haters or if they are all on Liddell’s balls. The man knocked him out and got the win, give him his props. I don’t wanna hear that his dancing is disrespectful, because are you all forgetting that little screaming move with his arms spread out that Liddell does after every knockout win? Seriously lighten up, it’s not like he was dancing OVER Liddell’s motionless body. Everybody’s reaction to excitement is different, and this win might have changed Rashad’s life. Let him do whatever he wants, he deserved it.

  • -“Rashad is a chicken”, really, were you not watching the same fight I was. The punch Rashad landed came when he stood toe to toe with Liddell and basically said to himself “I don’t care if Liddell hits me, I’m just going to hit him first.” The punch wasn’t even a counter, it was a direct blow straight to Liddell’s head.

-“Rashad is the new Tito,” really? Yes the fight was boring but mostly because Chuck was looking for ONE punch the whole entire time. It takes two to make a bad fight.

If you heard Joe’s comments early, the fight game needs to evolve more in terms of striking with kicks and punches and variety. The fighter who evolves the most will stay on top. Those who just pivot will eventually fall to the bottom.

  • Richard Stabone says:

    Has Rashad’s wife stopped screaming?

  • warcry says:

That boom is the shakeup of the Ufc. It’s also the sound of Chuck’s motionless body hitting the canvas, along with everybody in MMA’s jaw hitting the ground. Rashad was most impressive 2night. It was like somebody dropped a grenade on Chuck when they were trading blows. I don’t think people realize how perfect that blow was. He put the Iceman to sleep!!!! No one has done that. Rampage gnP’d him out. Chuck was out for a while!! Reminiscent of Franklin/ Quarry yeah dog that bad.

  • Mike A says:

Franklin looked good at 205 too even tho Hamill didnt seem like he came to fight

  • CanuckleSandwich says:

man, evans is annoying, yes, but all you chumps who suck on the iceman`s nuts still gotta give him some respect – he laid your boy out straight up. no excuses. so evans showboats a bit…yeah it`s lame BUT so do most other UFC fighters…what about your boy liddell and his prancing around with his X arms and all that other nonsense after all his wins? same crap. get over it. fact remains, evans had a good gameplan and executed it flawlessly – he **might** have been a bit lucky with that punch, but then again, he landed and liddell did not, so how lucky is that? liddell does habitually drop his hands, so what do you expect? still, i was hoping the iceman would connect with that uppercut at the same time so we`d have a double knockout `casue that would have been sweet 😀

  • stevefiji says:

First of all, Rashad won…with a monster KO… so anybody thinking he wasn’t the better fighter is a complete tird.

Secondly, Rashad had beaten everyone he’s faced so if either he or Machida gets the next shot, no complaining here as both have clearly earned it.

Thirdly, Sugar is constantly evolving… Forrest fought Rampage nearly the same as Sugar tonight… both were Machida style… it’s really not that much different from how Chuck fought in his prime (a circling-counter puncher) except Chuck had/has bigger punching power. Sugar and Forrest still have a great deal of learning to do, being the relatively newbies into MMA that they are, and they still seem to be taking leaps ahead with every new match and the training that goes with it. They are at or near the top and they still have much further to go… that’s impressive.

Fourthly, calling Sugar boring is hilarious….it doesn’t even deserve a response…kinda like Kimbo not needing to reply to the 2ndBrett Rogers letter.

Finally, that all being said.. Nipple tweaking… amazingly annoying crazy F’ing wife…. post fight antics that seem disingenuous and completely lacking in respect… Damn… don’t idiots like Barnett, Lesner and now Evans watch how the crowd responds to GSP, Forrest, Randy and how that makes them way more popular and way more ‘endorsable’ (if that’s a word)…. even if Sugar wins the LHW belt, do you want him representing your company? Some of these new breed are truly dumb bastards and lacking in general sportsmanship… it seems to be getting worse, but maybe that’s just me???

  • KTru says:

Hater alert with most these replies. Glad to see some of the later posts came to defend Rashad.

You Chuck lovers are all the same, living in the past with your beer-bellies to match his.
I like Chuck but HE LOST THE FIGHT!!!!!

Wake up and see that no matter what your pointless rant about Sugar is in the way he handles himself, that the fact of the matter is. The two got into a fight………AND THE BETTER FIGHTER WON!!!!!
