Notes: Hamman vs. Suganuma was a great fight with a bunch of momentum changes in a short amount of time. After the bout, announcer Mauro Ranallo mentioned the idea of a rubber match between the two. However, Hamman, who recently quit his job as a defensive line coach at Redlands University, could be in line for a fight against light heavyweight sensation Rafael Feijao. spoke to an EliteXC official two weeks ago who mentioned that Feijao’s next opponent could come from the winners of the Hamman vs. Suganuma and Diabate vs. Fletcher fights… Diabate expressed a desire following his win to take on Feijao… After his win over Morgan, Camoes made a brief plea to to fight a step up in competition, asking where the “big boys” are at and talking about a shot at K.J. Noons’ lightweight title… During the calendar of upcoming events, no mention of the ill-fated Sept. 20 show in Albuquerque was mentioned. The next EliteXC-related card will be a ShoXC event on Sept. 26. No matches have been announced but Five Ounces of Pain has reported that Jon Murphy will be fighting Shane Del Rosario and Matt Makowski will be going against Erik Apple… The week after the Oct. 4 CBS show in Ft. Lauderdale, there will be a ShoXC event on Friday, October 10… Berry was a heavy favorite to beat Lizama. Lizama had been slated to fight Justin Levens during Affliction’s first-ever PPV on July 19. The bout was canceled due to time constraints… Alendale is trained by EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields… Brock trains out of Urijah Faber’s “Ultimate Fitness” in Sacramento and is viewed as a strong prospect at 140 lbs. … Douglas is the same fighter who fought Marlon Mathias in a non-televised swing bout during EliteXC’s second CBS show on July 26 in Stockton. Douglas won early in the first round in that fight as well.

  • Toad says:

Jake shields talked to trump, but he was bumped, off the card, i know its hard, to believe he would fight in affliction, because the guys on a mission, to become to best welterweight, and apparently he can’t wait, so he calls out GSP, and by all means, is a BAD idea, so back your bags shields and grab your visa, cause your going to japan and fight for a while, then maybe you’ll get to fight a guy like mike pyle, then maybe dana white will bring you in the UFC, but until then we all must wait and see.

  • flyweight says:

I thought the last three fights of the night were fantastic. Diabate looked pretty nasty. Mauro Ranallo can’t be more annoying. The other guy looks like Kevin Bacon was dipped in acid for a millisecond.

  • Rich S. says:

i think when Buzz Berry beat Shamrock, he caught the “Shammy Trait”, you know, almost like a disease..
now, he can’t stop getting TKO’d..

  • Sam Caplan says:

Actually, it was Keith Berry that lost last night. Not Robert. Two separate guys.

  • mike wolfe says:

“Kevin Bacon dipped in acid for a millisecond”. Good one, but he isn’t the one on that commentating team that needs an acid bath.

  • Bad Monkey says:

Amen Mike Wolfe! Mauro must practice being a douchebag cause no one is that annoying naturally.

Overall and decent card to watch. None of the fights were bad, even the female fight was fought at a good pace. No complaints considering it was on cable, i.e. basically free. That first fight with Berry & Lizama was real good. Kudos for Lizama showing how it’s done with the body shots!! He really put the damage on Berry with those punches.

  • Rich S. says:

ay, i thought i probably had that wrong..
i never remember buzz’s first name..

  • Jesse says:

i find mike goldberg to be one of the most annoying commentators on the planet.. there is such a thing as trying too hard..
this mauro guy didn’t really annoy me.. they knew what they were talking about

the first and last fights televised were awesome back and forth exciting fights, a good show
