Baroni wants rematch with Kolohe

Our good friend from, Ariel Helwani, conducted a very entertaining interview with Phil Baroni that I recommend you check out.

Ariel had to take a little verbal abuse, but the end result were some good quotes:

Ariel Helwani: Were you happy with your performance against Hose?

Phil Baroni: What the f— do you think? Was I happy with my performance against Hose? What are you retarded?

Ariel Helwani: There has been talk of a rematch in the works…does that interest you?

Phil Baroni: F— yeah it does. I’ll fight anybody anytime, especially that guy. No hard feelings, Kala (Hose) is a nice kid. But I owe him an ass-kicking. And that Icon belt ain’t too shabby. F—, I love Hawaii…sign me up.

Ariel Helwani: You’re next fight is against Murilo Ninja Rua on CBS. Did you ever think, when you started out in this sport, that you would get a chance to fight on a network like CBS?

Phil Baroni: No, nobody did. Not the fighters anyway. Back then you weren’t fighting to become rich or famous. You did it because you loved it. You wanted to compete (and) prove yourself.

no one will take Baroni seriously unless he works on his cardio

  • mike wolfe says:

I can’t figure this guy out. He nearly brags about not training for 7 months before losing to Hose, and then later in the interview says that heart, skills and CONDITIONING are necessary to be a champion rather than ‘roids. “Do what I say and not what I do”, I guess.

  • Evan says:

Its hard to take him seriously but that interview was awesome.

  • keenan says:

baroni is going to get eaten

  • Rich S. says:

    i read the interview yesterday..
he says he want a rematch w/ Frank the most right now.. another fight which he would lose.. idk why they keep giving baroni all these tough fights.. i mean… lose to Shammy.. straight to kala kalohe.. and then straight to Ninja.. he’s gonna get boned by Ninja unless he gets some wild looping KO.. i mean, Ninja’s leg kicks, knees, elbows, body kicks, high kicks are all going to decimate Baroni.. and if they don’t completely knock him out.. they’ll make him extremely tired.. and even if he DOES beat Ninja and gets a shot back at Frank.. the only way he could win THAT ONE is if he threw some GODLY MIRACLE PUNCH that landed in the first 2-3 minutes.. otherwise.. Shammy would break him down like he did last time..
idk.. Baroni’s future isn’t looking too good right now.. i know he’s gonna keep fighting.. i just don’t know about the ‘winning’ part…

  • the one says:

baroni is retard lol!!!!but i still admire him for his confidence and heart….goodluck phil!!!!!

  • Lavman says:

Classic case of “Roid Rage”. What a Dick.

  • Rich S. says:

    Roid Rage?? no…
    that’s just how Baroni is..
if you ask me.. you gotta have a lotta balls to interview that guy.. because you know you’re gonna get bashed..

but, there were some stupid parts on the interviewer’s behalf..

there was one part where Baroni was like “i didn’t like my performance, i feel i did horribly” [only there were more expletives in there]

and then the next question was “How did you feel about your performance?”

i mean, you gotta be stupid to ask him that right after he told you..

Baroni’s just doin’ what any in-your-face kind of guy would do.. only.. w/ more expletives..

plus.. he said you have to be stupid to take roids in this sport.. so, why would he take roids.. [although saying that WOULD be a good cover up]

  • Jay K. says:

I didn’t know that those guys over at interview people with ADHD!

    F’king impressive!

  • Jiu-Jitsu Guy says:

Roid boy Baroni. People like him need to STFU and go home. No one cares about him.

  • RealDrew says:

What a jackass. I don’t understand how he keeps getting main events with these bigger promotions. He’s not even close to being relevent in a discussion of top 185ers.

  • jj says:

Baloney gets fights for two reasons.

Firstly he’s a colourful known guy and love him or hate him he can sell tickets much in the same way that Frank Spamplop can. Baloney can be just as funny as some of the other fighters out there–although its not always intentional.

Secondly, he’s an exciting fighter. Sure he gases quickly, but he’s fought some tough guys (and won). His fight against Hose was quite entertaining–win or loss, doesn’t matter.

Keyboard warriors need to at least give the guy some credit for taking the risks he does to try and entertain us.

  • Jiu-Jitsu Guy says:

“Keyboard warriors need to at least give the guy some credit for taking the risks he does to try and entertain us.”

LOLOLOLOL. Nothing compared to our soldiers fighting in wars. I also don’t respect meatheads who cheat.
