Further details surface regarding Bob Meyrowitz’s YAMMA Pit Fighting

More details pertaining to the formation of former UFC owner Bob Meyrowitz’s YAMMA Pit Fighting organization continue to surface.

According to the February 11 print edition of Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer, a second “Masters Division” match involving Eric “Butterbean” Esch vs. Gary Goodridge has been signed in addition to the previously reported Masters match between UFC veterans Don Frye and Oleg Taktarov.

Additionally, four names associated with YAMMA’s planned single night, eight-man heavyweight tournament have been reported by Meltzer. The names include former IFO heavyweight champion Chris Guillen, former IFO light heavyweight champion Travis Wiuff, former UFC competitor Wes “The Project” Sims, and “Gary Silvester.”

If Wes Simms is a part of it and wins the thing… the company should fold because they are just breeding evil.

  • NealTaflinger says:

The more I hear the more embarrassed I am for every one involved.

  • Sam Caplan says:

I think people should give the event a chance.

  • Evan says:

A suggestion if you don’t mind.

I think a write up should be done on how many orgs have folded, sold, merged and been created since TUF season 1. I know that’s a huge task but would be a fascinating read and something no other site or magazine has tackled that I know of. So much has changed for this sport in such a short amount of time it seems like little time is spent keeping an eye on the big picture. The total landscape is changing so fast we barely have a second to catch our breath.

Think about what a short time ago it was when the common thought was that Bodog and WFA were going to take on the UFC assuming PRIDE didn’t get their first. Now Mark Cuban is their biggest threat who wasn’t even on the radar a year ago.

It’s just crazy the pace this thing is taking.

  • Dan K. says:

Have they released any information yet on exactly what the new surface is? I heard that they were going to make it make like pit fighting, Which imo is a horrible idea, but thats all I’ve heard

“…a second ‘Masters Division’ match involving Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch vs. Gary Goodridge…”

Question. What, exactly, are Butterbean and Goodridge masters of? Being old and bald?
