  • Adam Morgan says:

A piece of trash that someone threw in the ring.

What do you think, Kimbo vs. Rogers next??

  • Guy Gaduois says:

Why is Mr T’s nephew hitting Santa Claus’ nephew in the face?
Apparently, Kimbo hit the “Gut Stretch Button” on pic 3.

    Wowzers. Dude can hit.

    ohhhhhhhhhhhh the irony

Kimbo reminded me of Lesnar in one sense. He excitedly smashes his target no matter that you’re not allowed to hit in the back of the head. When a fighter who is hyped that heavily shows such amateurish lack of form, it diminishes MMA and makes it seem more like “Mixed Martial Law.” Although Brock and Kimbo are obviously gifted athletes, they’re not artists. In fact, they’ve both still learning the ropes and promoted as sheer spectacles.

Now, Kimbo can box, but it’s clear that is all he came to do in a sport that involves a great deal more. He floored Tank a few times and didn’t use the opportunity to control him on the ground and pound him out or show off the subs he surely trained for. Instead, he waited for the wobbly punching bag to get up and stagger around in front of him so he could KO a sitting duck, a skill akin to T-ball.

Although the card was an A- overall, the headliner was a pathetic display of fighting prowess emblazoned with porn website sponsorships. It’s really sad if this what it takes to fill the seats and draw in new viewers.

It DEFINITELY fills seats and draws in new viewers. Last night we had the Chat going during this event. There were over 150 people in the chatroom and the crowd was COMPLETELY different from the typical UFC crowd we get. The fans in the chat knew close to nothing about MMA, had really no idea what EliteXC is, and some didnt even know that Showtime was a cable channel. The typical chatters we get during UFC events know their shit and can carry intelligent debate about MMA. The fans we got yesterday for Kimbo/Tank turned our chat into a sherdog forum. Kimbo is a true internet phenomenon – good bad or otherwise.

In his defense, I’m sure that’s how they rehearsed it.

kimbo knew he was in no danger from tank so was looking for the highlight reel ko. cant win with you guys at all. if he submitted him, you’d probably complain he couldnt ko tank. everyone knew this was the main event. everyone knew who kimbo and tank was. this went exactly how fans hoped and wanted. if you were unhappy with it then you really shouldnt have even bothered to tune in.

Come on man, countless fighters have let their opponent stand up after dropping him. It makes sense for a striker and it is the prerogative of the fighter who is still standing whether he wants to go to the ground. A decent grappler could have forced Kimbo to the ground but Kimbo is working his way up to tougher opponents as he should. Let him fight a few more guys and he’ll eventually encounter an opponent who can take the fight to the ground, or even better, someone who stands back up just to KO him.

No, he knocked that out in the ring 😉

  • Adam Morgan says:

No, watch the replay. It wasn’t a mouthpiece at all. It’s a piece of trash that someone throws into the ring.

I was in the chat last night and there were a lot of people from Europe in there so they dont understand US cable.
The was by FAR the best all around show I have seen in a while. All the fights were good except for Bigfoot and Ricco was a little slow at times.
WEC and EliteXC are putting it to the UFC as far as exciting fights.
Just my opinion…. UFC is not doing it for me at the moment. They did Randy wrong!

thanks for the pics, very good. I think any sport needs fluffy stuff like this to make it a little spicy. I loved when they would bring in these wacky fights in Pride FC, just to see what would happen. the 400lb african guy, the 7 ft guys, the olympic JJ guys, etc.

  • JacRabbit says:

I was there… it looked like a water bottle that he threw back into the crowd.

I agree–people are hating on the entertainment factor that brings in new viewers. Lets not be so damn critical, i like to see a spectacle every now and then–loosen your belt and enjoy the entertainment!
